Having arrived at Pitt in 2015, Tipton will have spent seven years in the program when it’s all said and done. Can anyone think of another player that’s been here that long? Maybe OL Chris Jacobson, but I think he was only six years.

It wouldn't feel like a Pitt season without hearing all the preseason reports about how great Tre is doing and he is going to have a big year.

I like Tre as a person as it is a good story. But its time to move on already for all parties involved.

I agree, he should move on. OTOH if he's
good enough to play, so be it. I doubt that
he's good enough to take substantial playing
time from our leading WR's whom IMO are
better.
I think he's at his highest level as a
WR. What he does bring is integrity,
leadership, and a positive team member.
I feel the positives outweigh the negatives.

So when Tre was a true freshman, Jaden Bradley was in 7th grade. Did I do that right?

Bull crap! The athletic department is bleeding money this year, even more so than every other year, and they are always asking for more donations. This is another example of how they waste money then keep asking for more. He may be the greatest guy in the world but he is not going to do anything to elevate this team more than just it's current state of mediocrity.

He could be finishing up his Doctorate by now. When it is all said and done he will have received about half a million in free education. Good for him.

The current plan is to get into coaching so sticking around another year is a no-brainer.

Dude, whether he stays or leaves it costs the university and athletic department the same amount of money... If any scholarship athlete wants to stay at Pitt for seven years, it means he probably loves the love as much or even more than we do. Telling someone like that to leave, who is respected for his accomplishments outside of football and is an ACC level fourth WR would be one of the dumbest things I can think of.

Uhhhhh genius,

Pitt is in the business of educating people. Everything else, including football takes a back seat.

The Kid wants to stay in school, he should be encouraged to do so.

The end.

Welcome back Dr. Tipton!

He committed to Paul Chryst in June of 2014. If we play in a January bowl game, he will have some association as a Pitt player from 2014-22.

Pitt's version of Van Wilder.

He was recruited by 6 Pitt head coaches while in high school and played for 1 head coach at Pitt for 7 years.

I have to wish the kid well. He should have his undergraduate and Master's Degree for sure. Good for him.

Was it Ryan Turnley who said something about Jacobson during the introductions of the ND game?
