They will still be good, probably a top 5-6 ACC team, but I think that has to probably kill any chance of having a really super season. With Lacey, who could have been a legit ACC POY candidate, I think NC St was probably a top 10-15ish team nationally. They still have Barber, Anya etc, but losing Turner and Lacy will sting.

Yes - came as a huge surprise.

This is a huge blow to next years team. Kind of head scratching because it doesn't appear he is projected as a first rounder?

An overlooked aspect of the overseas option for HS kids is that it seems to be happening with college kids, too. You can make a good living over there. The overwhelming sentiment on Twitter seems to be that "declaring for the NBA Draft" for some of these fringe prospects is basically just another way of saying they're ready to get paid somewhere.

The game is really changing and I'm fascinated to see where it ultimately winds up.

Yea but they limit the number of Americans on the teams over there so its pretty hard to make a consistent living in Europe. I'd estimate there are only a few hundred Americans who are making six figures or more playing in Europe. Not only is it hard to make the NBA, you can go from just missing the cut in the NBA to the 2nd division in Spain or the Belgian league or something like that making 50K per year.

50k per year is a lot more than these kids would likely be making otherwise.

Kyle Washington is transferring from them too per Rothstein.

Good news. Now let's get a starter dismissed this summer and maybe the Panthers can beat the Pack.
