What you say is all true, but didn't one of his players get up and leave the team DURING a game a few years ago? Not saying it hasn't happened before, but I haven't seen it since with any team. Huggy may be the greatest guy and a HOF coach, but he's a personal mess and all the yelling reminds me of Evans.Originally posted by BargeDog:
Posters rail about Dixon micro-managing players and preventing the free flow of their talents
First, all D-1 players have to play under close scrutiny--if that's a problem, it's a deal breaker
Second, Huggy can coach
Third, if any coach openly, loudly, profanely and incessantly micro-manages, it's Huggy.
Who can forget his game long open haranguing of Joe Alexander?
Players go to WVA to get pushed by him. It's part of his draw and it's not seen as a bad thing.
He relies heavily on the "punitive substitution" if you displease him.
With Dixon, however, the same behaviors are seen as interference and stifling growth and creativity.

I'll take Bob Huggins any day, he can coach. He's not a professor, but he knows basketball, that's what they pay him for! Go Mountaineers !
psndad. And the same can be said of Calipari, the man knows hoops, stop whining please!
Rossi's article was also a slap in the face of Duquesne AD Greg Amadio.Originally posted by TiredRam97:
Rob Rossi is also a WVU alum, so add that to the fact they're the only regional team still playing and you get this type of coverage.
