I'll make this short and sweet. I say NO.

I made my feelings known last night in a few threads but I think it's really BS that he tells the PG 3 weeks ago roughly how much he loves Pitt and is trying to get other top players to come here.

All that obviously wasn't true and imo he knew at the end of June he was going to decommit. He still claims Pitt is high on his list but at this point who the heck can believe him? I certainly don't.

So I say NO he ain't coming and it is a pretty bad loss for Capel and company.

Teenagers don't really understand the concept of commitment. Heck, lots of adults don't either. If he comes if he doesn't....one commit wont make or break our program. How quickly we forget how long it took Capel to snag X. This happens to the bigger programs all the time. No one notices because they replace with other blue chips. Just pray we dont lose Capel's commitment.

Voted no. IMHO, the long shot that he could ultimately come to Pitt happens only if--

1. He doesn't become a one-and-done.
2. Pitt plays in the NCAA tourney before he gets around to committing anywhere again.

I do not think he will come to Pitt at the end of the day but I also do not think it is out of the realm of possibility. I think Pitt should keep recruiting him with solid effort and time. He still has the local connections, was actually committed to the school and he has roughly a year and change to make a final decision.

I also concur that he is not a one and done type kid at this moment.

No. I think he was fairly grounded, and committed, but once he was transferred to IMG, showed he's being pulled in directions and was not immune to looking around.

I think people got in his ear and his family selling them "one and done" NBA dreams. Like you couldn't do that at Pitt.

IMHO either option1 or 2 taken separately would keep him from Pitt.
I don’t see any way he goes to Pitt if he was actually still considering Pitt why wouldn’t he have just stayed committed?

I was told Kansas and UNC sniffing around, he decommits and instantly gets the Kansas offer so that pretty much tells you what he wanted.

Its funny that it is Kansas and UNC, because I do not quite see him as their standard type of PG. He plays with speed but not that type of speed.

I could see him fitting into Sean Miller's offense at Zona or Mick Cronin at UCLA or Few at Gonzaga or Izzo at MSU.

He’s a lot like Leaky Black

I think he will be better than that but I get what you are saying.

When I think of UNC PGs under Williams, I think of Lawson, Felton, White and Paige, guys that really could threaten you by playing at speed and different paces. They all could score too. Those guys all scared opponents.

JHS is different stylistically than those guys, he is somewhat close to Kendall Marshall though. Not sure that is the best fit for Roy’s offense however.

At that age, Leaky Black had no jumper but was known as a tall PG with a high IQ. Transfers to Montverde. Never got better. He was top 25 at same time. It’s almost the perfect comparison.

If I can remember correctly, Leaky went back home after a year at Montverde.

I do not think JHS is passive in the way that Leaky is. I also think he is a more smooth and natural PG. Leaky is a lot more of a tools bet than JHS. More of a utility player. JHS clearly has a defined role/position when he gets to college whereas I do not know quite what Leaky is (I would play him at SF if anything).

Correct. Leaky went back after 1 year and couldn’t handle Boyle
