I really think we have reached a point in the season where Pitt needs to enter games with the mindset of trying to win 2-0. That mindset will prevent us from forcing things that are not there and digging ourselves the huge holes we have been digging.
For the past week, Pitt has been practicing against an offense that is very weak - itself. Do you think that lack of competition so to speak might lead to a lower level of intensity in a real game, until they adjust to playing against a competent offense? Not really a ridiculous idea. It might help them to pick up defensive intensity from the start as well. The didn’t start playing defense until midway through the first half as well.
It certainly can’t help. For the past week, Pitt has been practicing against an offense that is very weak - itself. Do you think that lack of competition so to speak might lead to a lower level of intensity in a real game, until they adjust to playing against a competent offense?
