U of Minnesota stood its ground, and the players have now buckled

People defending anyone's behavior like this frankly deserve an ass kicking ... I really hope you have no daughters.

I'm not exactly sure why so many people get so morally outraged at consensual sex?

A bunch of "stay out of my life" republicans telling other people how they should live their's. Get over it...if adults want to participate in this and all parties consent, then the have every right to do so.

I don't see where anyone can blame this behavior on the ages of the participants. Morality, in this country, has become an arcane curiosity. Don't blame the offspring when the adults demonstrate that they view molestation, fraud, dishonesty, bigotry, slander, deceit and gross ignorance as positive virtues.

It will be interesting to see how the Gophers play in the bowl game.

I can't believe I'm reading some of this. So there is no more right and wrong in the world? Just because something isn't illegal or because the police said nothing wrong happened, if that is indeed the case (which I doubt), doesn't make it right. Every one of the kids involved with this incident should be suspended for a minimum of one game. Pulling scholarships is a definite option. End of discussion.

If they thought it wasn't consensual, they would have pressed charges.

This isn't hard.

You clearly have no idea what causes the police to decide to press charges or not. Police press charges when they think they are likely to get a conviction. If they don't think they can get a conviction, even if they are 100% certain that the person is guilty, they do not press charges. Because if the case proceeds and they can't get a conviction with the evidence at hand they can never prosecute that person again for that crime, even if evidence later comes to light that the person is dead certain guilty.

You are right about one thing. This isn't that hard. And yet you still don't get it. Says a lot about you, doesn't it?

Oh good. Another intelligent and nuanced discussion of consent on Pantherlair. This will end well.

Hope she finds a new companion. That " guy" she was with didn't even react. Time to unfriend your "effeminate" friend and hang out with someone else who can stick up for you better. She'd have been better off with a girlfriend or two, they'd have at least reacted.
