Pretty easy match 25-8, 25-13, 25-14. In first set, Fairbanks was on the court with Kelley. Look to be developing some chemistry already. You can watch it through Facebook Live.

Fairbanks is the team captain per the article

I see that Middle blocker Gabrielle Essix scored 13 points on 8 kills and 5 blocks to lead the US. She is from the University of Florida. She and Bre Kelley were teammates prior to Kelley hitting the transfer portal in early May. Essix and Kelley were a formidable MB duo at Florida last year. Fingers crossed that Florida's loss will be Pitt's gain.

You can watch the replay on this facebook page. I like what I saw between Fairbanks and Kelley!

USA takes set 2, 25-20.

DR has some major arms, however their defense is not quite up to the standard.

Fairbanks displaying her usual brilliance - had one comical pass - that resulted in a point - where the pass took her right on net & she contorted her arms halfway parallel to the floor to better advantage her teammate attacking.

Fairbanks was used primarily as a setter, I only saw one attack from her on the night, which went errant.

Fisher's quest for Gold Medal #3 continues tomorrow against Costa Rica!

The USA had a lot of return errors early in the first set. Looked out of sync and the run was mostly fueled by errors by DR. Kelley had a nice match, with 8 kills and 5 blocks. The defense is carrying this team so far. The offense has been choppy.

USA U 21 takes down Costa Rica 3-0 25-11, 25-8, 25-9. Offense looked more fluid, more in system than last match. Will play next in Semifinals tomorrow.

USA closes out Mexico 3-0. I think this was the best match so far for Fairbanks. Really solid effort from the team.

"Rachel Fairbanks took Best Setter."

"I think that we prepared really well for this team, so we knew what to expect,” Fairbanks said. “At times we could have executed better, but in the end, we picked up tips, we worked hard and were the more aggressive team.”

Fairbanks and backup setter Alexis Stucky combined to set the U.S. Women to a .385 hitting efficiency."

Chicoine was a beast as an outside hitter. 5-10 but tremendous vertical and very powerful.
I'm confused about her bio. I see her listed as a freshman on the Purdue roster.....so what is she....maybe 19 years old? How is she on the U21 Women's Volleyball team? Help me out here.
