Uh oh Ravens

The Browns defense is pretty good too, and they will most likely be playing to be an above .500 team.

That sounds stupid regarding most franchises, but not to Cleveland. It’s been a talking point for them and I expect that to be a really close game.

Thing is in the first game Baltimore wasn't playing Jackson. As a poster above stated his running threat makes the other running backs better in the read option offense. I expect Baltimore to score more points in this game than they did in the first one, and for the defense to rough up Mayfield.

Of course I will be rooting for Cleveland but I don't expect them to go into Baltimore and beat them.

Yeah he’s going to be back next year, which didn’t look like an option a couple months ago.

I have to give credit where it’s due, they’ve been able to go on a hot streak on the backs of their defense and a strong running game. You don’t see that formula work that often anymore.

Had the Steelers not shat the bed against the Browns broncos raiders and bolts the ravens and their Awsome coach would have missed the playoffs for a fifth straight year.

Ravens should send the Steelers a nice Xmas gift for choking and allowing them to get into the playoffs

Awesome is a rather strong adjective. The guy has missed the playoffs 3 straight years. The Ravens are working on a contract extension, so you can probably sleep well.

5th longest coach as far as tenure goes. Soon to be 4th after Marvin Lewis goes. Constantly battling for the division and has a ring. Ya, he’s an awesome coach.

Tomlins teams crapping the bed against Denver, Oakland, and tying Cleveland are, again, a problem. You have to win against truly inferior teams and break even against the good ones. Tomlin can’t do that and we don’t see 1st rd byes or conference home games.

Jackson isn’t very good. Maybe he gave them somewhat of a spark this year, but he’s going to be exposed next season. QB’s that can only run and can’t pass don’t have much longevity.

With Flacco Baltimore missed the playoffs the last 3 seasons and were 4-5 this season and well on their way to missing for a 4th straight season. Now without him they are about to win the AFC North and Harbaugh is getting a new contract. At this point that is all that matters.

I take it you think Tomlin is an awesome coach as well. Tomlin has a better resume.

Wait - *looking around* - Marvin Lewis is getting fired?

I'm sure they're working on his contract extension as we speak.

We all know that about the time the Bengals finally are forced to detach from Lewis, it will mesh with an inevitable ugly, messy (because they always are for us) divorce of Pitt and Narduzzi. And Marv On The Rebound will emerge as the best (because it will be the easiest) candidate for our administration. Wannstedt Deuce (as in, drop one on us). We just know this, don't we?

Uh - I'm definitely not going to conflate Pitt and Cincinnati. Two wildly different situations.

Tomlin is a hall of fame coach.

Is that sarcastic? I’m not as critical of Tomlin as some others but if he ends up in the HOF they may as well open the doors to everyone.

How many Super Bowls has he been in in 8 years? Hell how many AFC Championships? I don’t buy their argument that he won one with Cowhers players because that’s as many as Cowher won with Cowher’s players. However he has crapped the bed at least once every single year and to base his hall of fame status based on regular season records and winning percentage is nuts. If he keeps that pace when BR retires then you have a valid argument.

The Ravens squandered some early opportunities to seize control of the AFC North in the first half of the season and lost a few games when Flacco wasn't 100%. Their achillies' heel has been an inability to put it in the end zone when in the Red Zone, something which they almost didn't overcome last night. They've been slightly steadier this year than the Steelers and it shows in the precarious position both teams are in, although the Ravens are in a better spot to grab a WC should the Steelers come through.

He’s still a young coach (46). By the time he retires, in lets say 10 years, assumung he averages 8 wins a year, that puts him at 200 wins and top 10 all time. Through 12 years has NEVER finished below .500. Top 15 all time winning %, currently 24th all time in playoff wins and will continue to climb. Other than Belichick, his resume is as good as any coach of his generation.

Hall of fame coach blew this one. Needs Cleveland to beat Balto to get in playoffs. HOF coaches should do better.

Coach lost this game? You’re an idiot.
The fake punt was a great call and the only reason they still had a chance to tie the game.

If you really think he will keep that pace up with Josh Dobbs and Mason Rudolph then God bless you sir. I have to imagine it’s your time on Sesame Street that accounts for your vivid imagination.

You don't call a fake punt in your own territory with 4 minutes left with the lead. Ridiculous call.

You think 40 yards was going to stop Brees? They were going to score, you wanted them to score fast, which they did. It’s not a bad call.

No, I think both stink and were wasted picks. The picks should have been spent trying to suck a ring or 2 out of Ben’s lasr year, not getting a qb to play after Ben retires in 3 years.

That's what I thought immediately after the call. The results probably proved this to be true. Can't plan for a fumble though.

Well, last year the Bengals ended the Ravens season, in Baltimore, and on a 4th and 12 to boot. The city of Cleveland has a burning hatred for the Ravens, and the team knows this. They will give all they have to ruin Baltimore's season, and to post a winning record.

From your lips to God's ears.

I don’t think it has much to do with The whole Modell thing, that’s ancient history. The players certainly don’t care.

Way more about the Browns wanting to finish with a winning record, that’s been their narrative and I really believe it’s important to their players and staff.

I’m of the belief they carry the strong finish into next season. They have a nice foundation on defense and I’m been a Mayfield believer since the season started.

That number opened at 5.5 and has stayed there. They definitely have a shot to win that game.

He is smart enough to see they have a better chance of winning with a running QB and a stout D than with Flacco. Huge in season change.
