UNC Basketball is Bipolar

That was the play Davis came up with for North Carolina's last play? Terrible, some bad long 3 smh.

What in hell was that last play? Wow. UNC is toast. They're not recovering from this.

I wouldn’t let Hubie on the plane. How many times out of a TO could they still not even get the ball inbounds or to a guard? What the hell is that last play?

They were in the bonus with like 14 minutes left and resorted to just dribbling around the perimeter, if they could even get it to half court.

So when the Baylor guy on the floor barely has possession of the ball but yells for a timeout he gets it. When the North Carolina player on the floor who barely has possession of the ball yells for a timeout it's a jump ball.

Change the rule. Only the player with the ball can call the TO. That Baylor TO apparently was called from the bench. Which, imo, is BS.

The guy on the ground with the ball was verbally calling it as well. You could see it on the replay.

I agree, but on the play they called the held ball on you could actually hear at least two different Carolina players yelling for a timeout when their guy had the ball on the ground.

I have no problem with giving Baylor the timeout there. I have a problem with the complete inconsistency that gave it to Baylor but didn't give it to Carolina.

From someone that’s watched close to 100% of every game so far, this one was called uncharacteristic from most others because they called way more fouls relative to letting em play a good bit more in most other games.

Otherwise, many herein are sounding a lot like ACC homers. Baylor called for a good bit more fouls, UNC at the line a good bit more.

UNC just really choked after being up 25 pts. Good thing they came out with a quick lead in OT and didn’t let that get away like regulation.

I watched this game for about 20 minutes in the second half and the disparity of what they were calling vs what they were letting slide didn't make sense.

RJ Davis, 30 points, 6 assists.

Being the bridesmaid is the story of this administration
Davis is a stud. The problem with Pitt’s recruiting strategy has been the failure to be able to get another very good player when they miss their top target. There HAS to be a VIABLE Plan B.

There must ALWAYS be a reasonable back-up plan that can be executed and achieved.

Watching CBB other than Pitt the thing that is most disconcerting to me is that there are SO MANY good CBB players. But with so many available (HS and Portal) Pitt can’’t get the right guys with the talent and personalities to be able to play together and win.

Incredibly frustrating. It really shouldn’t be this hard. 🤷‍♂️

I don’t think I’ve seen a team with such extreme highs and lows. They could literally beat anyone when they are on and then look awful against us and other teams. They got completely blown out in some games this year.
There are quite a few teams in this thing that meet that same description.

If you watched the game then you should know that given the way that the two teams play Baylor SHOULD have been called for a lot more fouls. They were playing the old Georgetown/John Thompson, we're going to commit so damn many fouls that the refs will never call them all defense.

If you say so Joe

Did you watch that game and think that the way Baylor was playing, especially in the second half, shouldn't have led to a ton of foul calls?

Seriously?

I'm guessing you are one of those people who judges if a game was well officiated by whether or not the total fouls called on both teams ended up the same.

I guess I’m basing it on literally watching every game of this tournament and seeing how in the vast majority of them the refs are big time ‘letting em play’. A lot of banging and hacking they are letting go that usually isn’t the case during the regular season in most games.

If you have watched all the games then you know that that game was much more physical than your typical game so far.

I think it was as more physical, much more compared to a regular season game but only somewhat compared to how they’ve been calling these tourney games. So I don’t think it was outrageous.

But time to move on, celebrate this big Houston performance. I’ve been bullish on them out here for a week now.

Except they aren’t
Fouls were called 10 on unc and 1 on Baylor during that stretch

I hate unc but that was egregious

It’s irrelevant now UNC won.

Next round will be interesting for them against UCLA. UNC is playing good and, after almost losing to Akron, UCLA looked real good in their second game. Although I don’t know the status of the UCLA guy that got hurt late.
