Does it seem odd that for the first time in 258 meetings, UNC and Duke are going head-to-head in the NCAA TOURNAMENT? And in the Final Four, no less? But what's the weirdest to me is that they're an 8 and 2 seed, respectively.

I don't care if you like either or hate 'em both; this is gonna be fun to watch if you're a college basketball fan. 🏀🏀

Hard to root for either group, I never really had a problem with the players (except that duke player that kicked and tripped alot, who the great coach K really didn't handle), but if you have ever been around those fans, I can't think of a more arrogant group of people,especially UNC back in the day, but both groups now...................go Kansas!

Can't argue @Parkview57; but this year's version of Duke / UNC seems different. Maybe it's the players; maybe it's Hubert Davis sitting on the UNC bench leading his players; maybe it's that we'll never see Coach K on the Duke sidelines again

I haven't been paying attention at all, plus my sentiments go back many years, growing up in SC, rooting for the South Carolina teams while still the ACC, in the late 60's early 70's you would probably have to research it all as it is a long story. The closest thing i can tell a Pitt fan is if you recall the 13-9 football game vs WVU, how bad the officiating was slanted in favor of WVU, I think the score could have easily been 27-9, this is what happened in the years that South Carolina rose to the top, and led to them leaving the conference.

Oddest thing for me watching this UNC-Duke FF game is remembering that we beat UNC handily at UNC earlier this year.

I still remember watching that game and thinking that, either than Caleb Love, these UNC guys don’t look any better than our Pitt BB crew. Crazy.

Bacot for unc is so ugly that I’m having a hard time rooting for unc. And I hate Duke.

Ususllly someone that ugly gets the sympathy vote, like u feel bad for him and he’s overcome this and you root for him.

From 1969,70,71 we had John Roche, Bobby Cremins, two big guys Riker and Tom Owens,Joyce, Adlyt, Carter finished like 14th , 6th and 6th in the final AP poll, Frank McGuire coaching, undefeated in ACC play one of those years, We couldn't wait for the next game. One of those years got hosed in the ACC tourney championship game and lost to NC state in Double OT, horrible officiating. I believe SC went independent in like '72 or '73

RJ Davis had great 1H. He is REALLY good.

That’s what you want in terms of PG play in today’s game. Ball handler. Passer. Penetrator. Shooter and scorer from all 3 levels. He’s had a tremendous NCAAT.

I know. That has been one of Capel’s biggest downfalls here. He’s identified some excellent players as 1A targets and was apparently involved to near the final decision with them. But when he missed them, he either didn’t have lined up - or couldn’t manage to close on - a resonably comparable 1B target. So the drop to the players he did land turned out to be considerable.

What a game. For me (having gone to both schools) beating Dook in the final four is up there with being in CLT for the ACCCG this year. Have to give the nod to Pitt/Wake, being there on-site instead of on my couch, but wow. I know most here don’t have a dog in the fight but I’m on cloud 9.
