Do you realize how many shades of color and types of Panthers there are? ( answer:many)
This is the current color scheme, which looks great. They need the helmet and pants to match, though. The current helmet looks greenish in certain light, as one of you made note of.
I was addressing a point in time (1997's Midnight blurple)... agreed the blue is, well, bluer, and the gold has crept away from the Pederson original puke green. But not by much.
This combo is good. Visible blue and a tawny gold.

How about a sublimated Panther Cub spotted pattern on the jerseys of all freshmen?
No I know but others keep referencing today as if it's the same scheme as 97? It's not. I think the only way to match entirely is to have a different helmet that has no metallic at all...right now it's less than 97 but still somewhat metallic.. It's just easier to match more primary colors in fabric and plastic..
Since every one is a fan of mustard gold, it looks like Pitt compromised and went with Honey Dijon Mustard Gold, ....I love it

it's not so much about the helmet, which I believe has become more "gold" or less metallic. I like the more Mustardy or even yellowish outside of that bright ass metallic look..
The more I look at it the more I am convinced the helmet has been toned done alot.....if they can match the pants with the helmet like in your James Conner pic, then I think they might be onto something......Let us all hopeit's not so much about the helmet, which I believe has become more "gold" or less metallic. I have said this many times, Pitt's uniforms over the past several seasons have been very nice looking. I'm not necessarily against a change but they do need to be careful not to regress.

Just received an email invitation to the May 18 event...
FWIW it was prominently colored with a dark Navy background in gold letters which seems very close to one if the golds currently being used.
Even ROC is getting new digs.

That's exactly what the gold should look like, regardless of how lighting effects it. I think it would be a good idea to go back to white numbering, though.
keep that helmet, find out what color ND uses for their pants and use it and who cares how dark the blue is. Purple, blue, black, its cool. I swear, our pants match ND's helmets and their pants match our helmets.. They should just swap.. Not sure if nike or adidas would be too happy though..
