Obviously is not open yet, but it is just a matter of when. I see the free board the thread was deleted for obvious reasons, and maybe Mike412 can add (is he still a pay member) but anyways....Jimmy Franks name is being mentioned as USC's #1 target. He has a fairly palatable buyout in comparison to other coaches.

I wrote this post in response to that thread but by the time I was going to post it, the thread was gone, so I will post it here, devoid of Nitter trolls. Anyways.....my thoughts on this possible situation. Tell me I am wrong and if so, why?

At this point, a James Franklin possibly leaving is a situation that might not be too unpalatable for the Nitters.

Look, Franklin has elevated their recruiting to top 10, maybe even top 5 status. One can make the argument they have now surpassed Michigan. The problem is, a school that is top 2-3 overall is in their division and that ain't changing soon.

Franklin, while a PA native is not your classical State College type of guy. Matt Rhule is. Matt Rhule is a State College Hi grad, and a Nitter. And he is.....let's be honest....white. He is a link back to their glories of JoePa and to boot......he is a helluva coach.

So if this does proceed through channels, perhaps PSU doesn't go through hoops to try and hold Franklin, knowing Rhule is on speed dial...waiting.
