I trust Chad Gordon’s analytics but I really don’t understand how VVG is the 7th most valuable OH this year. I know her serving is really good and her defense is good but she plays a clear 3rd fiddle in Pitt’s offense compared to DeBeer/Rubin/Hudson/Mruzik/Murray who are all behind her and the top options on their respective teams

I will take Olivia Babcock over everyone on this list. She is the most impactful OH in the game. Chad had a little too much pre Thanksgiving toddies.

Babcock is an opposite, not an outside hitter, that’s why she isn’t on this list

Amateur here...but could VVG's success be due, in part, to the defense hedging on the other players? Like a WR in football being more open because they double team the superstar WR on the other side of the field? She is my favorite player because she never gave up on being here and well...I am fluent in Spanish so when I go a game, afterwards, we speak Spanish.

amateur here too but gotta think net defending resources tilt differently with Rachel's spreading the wealth that means the opposition can't anticipate and VVG benefits

btw, working knowledge of Spanish picked up after age 26 or so, and quite a few of the "curse" words, funny how THEY stick , haha

I learned when over 40 when we lived in Mexico, and it was hard! Now I get to travel throughout Latin America teaching/preaching (pastor). Our kids learned it in 2 months, as they went to Mexican schools, and let's just say, they learned more words than I did....😗LOL
