VB - Update NCAA Stats

I love Mondays because the NCAA updates their stat sheet. Pitt is prominent. Here goes....

Individual Rankings....remember this includes all 346 Division 1 schools....rankings include the top 50 athletes in each category

• Aces/set...Babcock #2 in the country....VVG #44....Pitt is the only team with 2 in the top 50
• Assists/set....Fairbanks 16th in the country
• Blocks/set....Kelley 37th in the country
• Hitting %....Stafford 16th in the country
• Kills/set....Stafford 20th in the country....Babcock 28th....Pitt is the only team with 2 in the top 50
• Pts/set....Babcock 3rd in the country....Stafford 22nd....Pitt is the only team with 2 in the top 50

It needs mentioning that Stafford is the not only the only Outside Hitter in the top 50 - what she is doing right now is absolutely unheard of. She is hitting .425 on the year - the next best OH in all of college volleyball is a girl on UT Arlington - she is hitting .327. Nearly 100 points below Stafford. Absolutely insane

The combination of the velocity of the ball leaving her hand and launch angle of the ball as it lands on the opponent's side of the court is amazing. I would love to know what those numbers actually are. I'm guessing it can reach 60 mph and a 45 degree angle. Coupled to her ability to hit the seams makes defenses look helpless.
