VBALL - "How Pitt got to a Final 4, again"

Wouldn't it be fitting if they took down Louisville and then played SD in the finals to avenge the season opening loss with a NC? Coach Fisher and the players have all bought in.That's what you need to build something special.
This team has been incredibly fun to follow- maybe my favorite PItt team in any sport ever .

Truly had to meld newcomers with veterans and a number of players had to embrace different roles. Program stalwarts like Starks, Browskie,
Akeo have certainly shown this - and they turned what I thought was a relative weakness last year - service and back line defense into a strength this season.

Just so satisfying to watch a team get better and truly be a team with clear roles working toward a common goal.

Ennis was recruited to be an outside hitter. But when Akeo started the season with an injury, Cam unselfishly moved to be the second setter in their 6-2 scheme and performed well.

Then Akeo heals, but Dalton goes down with an injury. Cam moves back to outside hitter and played well against Wisconsin when Pitt had little margin for error if they hoped to beat the Badgers.

Oh and by the way, Fish and his staff are terrific!

I think switching positions in volleyball isn't as big a deal as some other sports because clubs expect them to move around. Sort of the nature of the beast. That said, I have no idea what happens between now and Sunday but regardless of the outcome, Pitt fans should be pleased with this team.

I have been a big Ennis fan all year. She is definitely not a star for us, but she makes everyone around her better. Transfers like Gray and Buzzerio deserve the praise, but having someone as versatile as Ennis basically coming off the bench has been a real coup for this staff.

Definitely saved our bacon during the tournament run.You need glue guys or girls in this case, and she has been that.
