why would any team play man-to-man defense against Virginia? They do nothing but run you through screen after screen for 30 seconds of the 35 second shot clock, wearing down the defenders who must continually fight through screens.

Play zone against them, right now FSU is getting obliterated by the on ball screen, similar to what occurs with Pitt.

Because some coaches are not flexible and stick with their system...regardless of what is happening or who they are playing. I love watching UVA this year and last...as they very much remind me of Pitt teams of the past. Hail to Pitt!

I find Seth Greenberg to be mostly annoying..but he did a segment about how "unwatchable" college hoops is..

and showed UVA contesting great on defense for 32 seconds forcing a bad shot and collecting the rebound. Then running their offense for 30 seconds, multiple passes, getting a layup.

Sarcastically yelling "How unwatchable!" after great fundamental play after great fundamental play.

IT was pretty much on point to me.

Agree with you 100% on that observation. And although I do understand how people love watching teams that run with grace and score in seconds [or at least jack up a shot] and run back...I"ve always preferred teams that play some defense, even if not as deliberate as UVA or Pitt [used to be] on offense. I am likely to adopt Kentucky and Virginia as my Dance teams...and altough both are very different, it is the defense that each brings that makes them so much fun [for me] to watch. Hail to Pitt!
