Anyone have a scouting report on VT? Haven't watched them play a single snap. Started off the year how I expected (awful), but seems to have come along way.

I'm going to bump this for you because it is who Pitt is playing next -- and quite possibly the biggest game of Narduzzi's tenure, again -- but the water fountains are off at Heinz and if Pitt had its own stadium, we wouldn't be buying $7 Aquafina's, okay?

Appreciate this. Thought someone would've said something lol

The real question is if the Orange Bowl will use tarps if our schedule is easier than Penn State to compensate for the problems created by not having an on campus stadium (which leads to smaller bowl attendance by self loathing yinzers wearing the wrong color script.)

is Pitt still playing in this game? I heard it costs money to travel to the game. Also Pitt isn't picking up every individual fan and driving them to Blacksburg and giving them 50% off their hotels.

Only saw parts of 2 games. Their D seems like ours....aggressive, prone to getting gouged for big plays but they make their share as well. They seemed a bit stronger against the run than pass. Their O had a bunch of short passes the supplemented their running. QB was ok out of the pocket and when they tried to go deep he seemed a average at best.

All in all very similar to us. Could be real close. Their punter may actually be a huge factor. He was outstanding from what I saw. They also still seem to put tons of pressure on kicks.

I watched a few of their highlights from this year and 2 things stood out:

  1. Their QB does a good job of pump faking to get separation for their WRs
  2. They run a traditional offense with a run 1st option

If only they’d allow fans to bring in their own water bottles. Oh wait.

Its the same story for PITT every week.

PITT has to run the ball, and run the ball better than PITT has run the ball to date.
PITT's passing attack is good,if PITT runs the ball better, sets up some screens, maybe a draw play or two, planned QB run the passing attack will be even more effective.
PITT needs to run the ball to consistently set up second and 6, and to pick up the 1 yard with a run when needed to get a first down or TD.

Did I forget to say PITT needs to run the ball better in the last two games especially this game.

PS-Getting beat on special teams is embarrassing and a sign of poor coaching.
Special teams is all about coaching and doing the things that have to get done to cover a kick or return a kick.
