Oh well, its was still a good year.

Congratulations to all the players and coaches on all your accomplishments this year.

And to all the seniors you will be missed. Good luck in your careers.

Hail to Pitt !

Hate to say it but that Miami loss cost them a spot. ACC only put 4 teams in last year and it's a weaker conference. Need to upgrade the non-conference schedule next year. However, the team definitely took a step forward this year and the girls accomplished a lot and you can definitely see the improvement under Dan Fisher.

Must be like NCAA hoops tourney (only worse) with automatic bids to winners of mid-major conferences getting in. I saw all sorts of teams in with records like 11-11, 13-13, etc. Hard to believe 26-5 (13-5 ACC) gets left out. I saw a pre-selection night projection of Pitt getting in with a 6 seed.

The committee clearly fixated heavily on RPI - a flawed metric - and factored in everything else after that. That's evident.

USC - great program historically, competitive conference. They're 15-15. That's a name pick if I ever saw one.

Seton Hall - lost to Xavier (19-12, 55th), UNLV (26-7, 57th), West Virginia (16-14, 65th), and Butler (20-10, 83rd). All worse losses than our worst loss(es) against Virginia Tech (51st - 17-14). More overall losses than Pitt. No conference title.

Michigan State - Lost to Duke & LIU Brooklyn (Pitt beat both). More overall losses than Pitt. No conference title. Worse home record than Pitt. Worse road record than Pitt.

Pretty annoying - especially since the staff really wanted the selection - but I really love that the team outdistanced pre-season expectations again. They had a bunch of returning pieces and improved, which is what you want. Fisher's also shown an eye for talent with Genitsaridi and Bell. Due for a dip next season, but I really like this coach & program long term.

Based your analysis then we clearly got shafted.

What BS. Was Libscomb at large bid too ? I just assumed that the selection committee for the non revenue sports actually would know their sport and pick the best teams they could and avoid all the politics but apparently not.

Didn't even think twice on them, but your hunch was right - Lipscomb was an at-large.

They lost to Jacksonville November 22nd, which gave Jacksonville University the Atlantic Sun AQ berth.

21 wins (to Pitt's 25). 8 losses (to Pitt's 6). No conference championship. Among their eight losses:

* Xavier (55th RPI, 19-12)
* Northern Kentucky (109th RPI, 19-11)
* Georgia Tech (131st RPI, 13-18) - Pitt beat them!

All worse than Pitt's worse loss(es) to Virginia Tech (51st RPI, 17-14).

... But their RPI was 33rd to Pitt's 52nd. Makes me kinda sick now.
