it pays to have a weak schedule early in the year. rolled by Tennesse, then they haven't played anyone since.
The 2016 Season is still formidable for Coach Pat & Staff and the Pitt Players and even more so when Defense Disturbing Disappearances and still need so much to do.

Damn Cap, where's the love for the PITT team; UVA and Syracuse are "TOSS UP" games?
I think Coaching is doing great but Defenses even on Top Teams are giving up 30+ points now. But just second year of Narduzzi's Systems and Coaching and the Defense collapses need corrected, but when and how, up to them,just don't see it yet.
Up to Pitt to beat Vt & Miami and get it done, but others will be better after games 7 thru 12 too. I still see a maybe 9-3 but unlikely, possible 8-4, but 7-5 and 6-6 not out of the question either.
Not sure if you watched Cuse versus the Domers, but they can really throw the ball. Be sure, Syracuse is going to score some major points versus Pitt. Hopefully Pitt can out score them, as otherwise, it could easily be a loss. If we are playing a team that has any passing game, they will be in it until the end for sure based upon what I have seen through five games. Hail to Pitt!
Captain, you have record errors, see your post quoted above. You have us as a TOSS UP LOSS to Virginia Tech, yet you move our record as if it was a win (from 5-2 to 6-2), so your entire records from there on are incorrect and by your predictions, we should be 7-5 and not 8-4
Every QB PITT faces this season will be excited to test the PITT secondary. The key is continuing to get pressure on the QB, which appears to be an issue late in the second half. I can't blame the DL, since they play their hearts out every down knowing that a QB with even the smallest amount of time will find an open receiver.
In a nutshell , I agree wholeheartedly. My hope is the passing game and the young guys continue to develop on the offensive side of the ball to limit the potential 4th quarter comebacks that we've seen the past 4 weeks
Top to bottom the conference is improving. Will be interesting to see what shakes out in three years.

Babers will keep improving CUSE and they will a be tough win for Pitt, just like the rest of the schedule.
Richt, Mendenhall, Fuente, Babers added to Johnson, Swinney, and Cutcliffe pretty good Coaches. The ACC really has improved its coaching.
Virginia improving week by week. Probably take them another year before they're fully back, but Mendenhall is a really solid coach.
Mike London really screwed up that program, and they let him stay at least a year too long.
With that schedule and the improvement with some of the teams on our schedule, I just don't see us winning more than 3 more games. 6-6 is likely and won't be easy. 5-7 is a very distinct possibility.
My HS team could throw the ball vs ND...their defense is as bad as ours, if not worse. All of a sudden people are nervous about Cuse and UVA...relax!!!
For all the talent Notre Dame gets there is no way their pass defense should be anywhere close to that bad but it is.
I thought 9-3 before season, at this point thought 4-1, so it's looking like 8-4, but thinking 7-5 with the loss now I thought would be a win, VA TECH
