Taking it to Duke. Hunter Catoor is back and they are pretty loaded to be honest. Honestly, talent-wise they're Top 5 in the ACC.

ACC is so dumb this year. Could be a 10 bid league and will only probably get 6-7 in with FSU and Louisville dogging everyone and VT being terrible in conference

And ND who returned everyone but that 1st Round Freshman. There are 10-11 teams with NCAAT bubble-type (at least) talent. But these teams screwed themselves. To Pitt and Capel's credit, they didnt lose to girls teams in November like the other ACC teams.

I saw this post and decided to turn on the game to see Va Tech "taking it to" Duke. So imagine my surprise the game came on and I saw the score was tied.

Just what it is with you and drama?!? LOL.

Ah, come on DT. Everyone knows that a ten point first half lead in college basketball is a lock.

A stone cold lock.

So a player is allowed to accidentally punch someone if it is deemed celebratory. That is ridiculous.

I kinda thought the same thing actually. I guess that's the rule because they didn't labor over it very long though.

There needs to be consistency. That’s my biggest issue with officiating.

I think there is a difference though. It did kinda look like Burton twitched his arm up into his defenders face. (And for the record, I don't think that flagrant should have been called on Burton because their arms were otherwise entwined).

In the case with today, it was 100% clear that the pop to the face was completely non intentional. But it wasn't a basketball play in any way either.

But like I said, the refs looked at it for about 10 seconds and made their decision and no one on the Duke side seemed to have any issue with it at all.

That was a Flagrant 1 tonight. No question about it. There’s no consistency.

So no time in the last 50 years did a bottom feeder ACC team upset Duke? Maybe you should check before saying that?

I guess I haven't looked at resumes of all the ACC teams. How is that they are so weak? Didn't the ACC win the ACC-Big 10 challenge?

Its not. VT isnt much less talented than Duke. They shouldn't be 1-7
VT reminds me a lot of Clemson. They don't look like they are overly athletic but have a good inside and outside game, can defend and rebound. This is a totally crazy year in college hoops. Teams everywhere going on winning streaks and moving up in the rankings then immediately losing a few games in a row while looking pretty bad.

Clemson is 1st. VT is near last. Clemson isn't much better than VT. In fact, it took a Clemson buzzer beater to beat them.

The ACC is good, which is why a good VT team can get to be 2-7 or whatever if they run into a little injury stuff.

Virginia Tech has played, and mostly lost, a ton of close games. BC beat them in overtime. Wake beat them by two. Clemson beat them by three the first time and by one, as you say, on a buzzer beater the second time. NC State beat them by four. They just beat Duke by three.

Even in the non-conference they beat ODU by five, Penn State by two, lost to Charleston by two, beat Charleston Southern by five and beat Oklahoma State by five.

Right. They are a Top 5 team in this league I think.

1. Clemson
2. Miami
3. UVa
4. UNC
5. VT
6. NC State
7/8 Pitt/Wake
