Come on, Lamont. We aren't that dumb. Schools don't create student accounts for EVERY applicationt just in case they decide to go to school there, can you imagine the wasted manpower of they did. You are already a registeted student with a PSU email address You are going to PSU. Good luck but it is insulting and rather rude to toy with some Pitt fans who are more on the gullible side who believe you still may come here.
Khaleke Hudson was in the same DB last year..... and went to Michigan.
My daughter was in the same DB at PSU 3 years ago, even after she chose Pitt.
They create the account when you get accepted.
Well, in siding with a 17 year old, this information potentially ruins his announcement and while I prefer he'd go to Pitt it is unfair to steal his thunder.
Few know it, but Penn State now does background Checks on anyone's Contribution of Money, and if they have Criminal Sex Conviction the money is refused.
This is part of the Penn State Athletic Integrity Reforms of 2012. It also applies for Employment or Contracts.
However, for years Penn State have helped Recruits (3,000 Invites 8th through 12th Grades) Invited to Penn State Summer Camps much help in qualifying for Penn State Admission, for years before they apply.
The Big Ten allows Unlimited Non-Qualifiers in GPA & SAT. if you prove you can do College Work in the Classroom by sitting out year doing it.

That makes 0 sense and I don't believe it. Why would PSU waste time in creating tens of thousands of profiles for students that are not going to enroll.
I graduated from Pitt in 2015 and went through the application process in 2010 and was accepted to psu and I had an account. It's a way to track your application process. To apply you create the account.

It's an automated process... account is created upon acceptance so you can access certain parts of elion.edu that you can't access without an account. At the end of every semester, inactive accounts are usually deleted. My daughter's elion.edu account was still there months after she was going to Pitt.
And I don't believe for a second this kid would toy with anyone. It seems he and his family have handled this about as well as anyone could.

Come on, the same thing happened last year, and as jpripper said Alabama and others do this, I recall this happening in several high profile recruiting battles.

FWIW, the only 2017 recruit listed in PSU's directory is Michael Miranda. I searched all but the ones with hyphenated last names or abbreviated first names. It could be that these players just didn't officially yet but you would think that if a kid who is only "considering" Penn State applied, there would be more verbals who were told it would be a good idea to apply by now.
Most of their recruits aren't starting at PSU in January, the ones starting next fall wouldn't have an elion.edu account yet.
Anybody accepted for January enrollment would have had their acceptance processed by now and show up in elion.edu.

I am no longer denying that PSU creates an account for all applicants. However, the fact that Wade has applied along with only 1 other PSU recruit, it seems pretty telling that he's going to PSU. Now, I never thought he was going to Pitt anyway but I don't know why there would be a rush to apply. I mean if he applied to any school on Dec. 19, 1 phone call from James Franklin, Pat Narduzzi, Dana Holgorsen, etc and he would be enrolled in a matter of hours, if even that long.

Look... you don't have any college-aged kids so you haven't gone through this yet, so I'll give you a pass there and just explain it to you calmly.
If you want to enroll early at a college, you have to to get your acceptance processed earlier. People enrolling for January had to submit their acceptance no later than a month or two ago. Wade most likely submitted his stuff for multiple schools, because he knew that he is enrolling in January for whichever school he chooses.
An elion.edu account was created for EVERY SINGLE PERSON who has applied for acceptance to PSU for January. I know this because my daughter went through it.

Now the odds are that Wade is going to select PSU... and when that happens, you're going to come on this board and proclaim to everyone that you were right. You are NOT right. Wade has likely submitted acceptance stuff to multiple schools, we just know about his entry in the elion.edu database because PSU doesn't keep the database private.

I don't recall anybody convinced Hudson was going to Penn State. Leading up to his announcement it was quite the contrary. There were plenty of posts by the BWI and Rivals guys calling it for Michigan way in advance.
As for the directory, if you are accepted for admission an account is created and it would show up in the directory. It is very common and not unique to any one person or student athlete.
Last year, Franklin got blown away by MSU and Barbour forced him into a PC before and after the Game, OC got fired and later others left and no Extension and Hot Seat Sports Websites appeared? PSU did not close on many recruits after that season and even took JUCO's and Decommitts happen to Franklin like he did years earlier to the other programs. Remember Matthews, Hamlin and Hudson even Temple took some away from Franklin?
Now this is another different year, Franklin is doing just fine right now even with limited "Ships" to give, just grabbed a 4 Star Wideout of Florida!
Yet, USC Game Awaits? A Win will make it even better, a Loss could cause some concerns, but it is a different year and PSU will end up in Top 5 if they Win and 12-15 if they Lose no matter what and I see this has exciting as ever.
Pitt beats NU Pitt will be in the Top 25, and WVU too even if it wins or loses against Miami?
I think 2016 has been a great year for all 3 Programs, and it will fun to enjoy the Bowls, Polls, and Recruiting!
