His Mom????

I am not sure why Wahab would want to go to Georgetown and compete against two other 2019 Centers Timothy Igohoefe and Malcolm Wilson.
Good point - their starting Center is a Jr. and they are already bringing in the two newcomers that you mentioned.

Unfortunately, not going to get my hopes up on this one, which really stinks as he's one of the recruits Capel has seemed to be on the longest. Fingers-crossed for him. Hopefully another visit or two as well.

If winning is a factor, I'd feel better now than before.....we've shown we have some great people for him to play with....

Very good point. VT is top 10-ish, but compared to the other 4 teams, Pitt is right there and has a GREAT, young nucleus. Please, please, please come to Pitt.

Ewing has the advantage of being one of the great centers to play NCAA hoops had had a very good pro career.........I imagine that would be hard for a kid to resist

On the flip side Pitt and Capel have playing in the ACC, great young guards who will get him good looks, immediate playing time, and a coach whos coached some of the best.

I think if mom and his handlers are going to win out he would already be a Hoya. Fingers crossed he does what HE wants to do.

I would be willing to be the bagman. If they get a bag together for him, I promise to deliver it to Qudus and his mother personally. This is the guy this program needs!!!!

I find these complaints about not paying kids (enough) tiresome. Capel agreed to come coach here because he agreed with Lyke’s vision, whatever that may be. Either he wins the way he’s told to or he doesn’t. He knew what he was getting into, just like Stallings did.

If he thought he couldn’t land them, he probably would never have recruited them in the first place.

We don’t know the facts and continually blaming our recruiting misses on huge payments is just being a sore loser. We just lost a kid to Dayton for crying out loud.

Yup........kids pick schools for a wide range of reasons.........they are 18 year olds with lots of voices in their heads.......I have no doubt JC will get the talent here he needs.......It may not be the kids everyones focused on but the dude can recruit and coach. He'll do better than Ok

My take was that Birch left because Pitt was not paying what Skerry promised. Skerry left for same reason, didn't see eye to eye with Pitt recruiting methods.
Or maybe he was a spoiled brat who left because he wasn't tough enough to earn his playing time. Remember how much he played. Virtually nothing. But hey this payment story is more fun isn't it?????

It is, actually.

It may be more fun, but I'm not sure how accurate it is. For example, you said that Pat Skerry left because he didn't see eye to eye with Pitt's recruiting methods. Perhaps he didn't, but the primary reason he left was to become the head coach of Towson, a position in which he's employed to this day. Skerry also left in April, while Birch announced his intent to transfer in December. Given this information, which is the more plausible scenario?

a) Pitt made promises to Skerry and Birch that they went back on, causing both to leave

or

b) Pitt only got Birch because they hired Skerry, then Skerry left for a better job and Birch had ~9 months to reconsider whether he actually wanted to play for Pitt

I think it's the latter, which perhaps reflects on Dixon's naivete vis a vis dipping his toes into a pool that had a temperature he wasn't prepared for, but has very little to do with Pitt or the potential for future recruiting.

The recruiting pitch should be an easy sell now. Do you want to play with the best pair of freshman guards in the country? Do you want to get easy looks? Do you want major minutes on a team that is in the process of ascending to the upper half of the ACC? If so, then come to Pitt.

Most definitely an easy recruiting pitch. They just have to be gaining some momentum, at least I'm hoping. Hopefully Capel does a little recruiting between now and Saturday's game vs. Cute.
