Wanny on WTAE in Pittsburgh tonight told a quick story of his first week on the job at Pitt when he called JoePa to get the Pitt/Penn State game on the schedule. He noted JoePa recruited him and they knew each other for 40+ years. Wanny said we need to get the game on the schedule and he got this response from JoePa , “Dave, it’s not gonna happen as long as I’m the head coach here.”
Wanny went on to say it’s bad for college football to not have Pitt playing Penn State and WVU annually.
