[/B]The Nike Camps are here[/B]

This weekend Student Sports will hold Nike Camps in Columbus on Friday, in State College on Saturday and at Rutgers on Sunday. If history is a teacher over 900 prospects will attend these three camps alone. The advanced list for State College had close to 400 names on it. There often are prospects that sign up late so it could reach the 400 mark again this year. There are 12 Nike Camps in total but these three camps are in Pitt’s recruiting footprint.

I have an advanced list of those signed up for State College and it gives me a headache just looking at a list this long. There are players from New Jersey, Maryland, New York, Virginia, Iowa, Illinois Massachusetts, Minnesota and Washington DC. There is also a very long list from the state of Pennsylvania.

Here is a very small sample of some of the players that have signed up for the Nike Camp at State College.

A.J. Alexander- Altoona (Soph)
Jake Anderson-OL Erie McDowell
Pat Bostick QB- Manheim Twp
Donny Barclay- OL Seneca Valley
Jon Ditto-WR Gateway
Toney Clemons- WR Valley
Cody Endres-QB Trinity
Marcel Farrish-RB Woodland Hills
Gino Gradkowski-OL Seton LaSalle
Joe Haden-Ath Ft Washington, MD
Henry Hynoski-RB Southern Columbia
Dan Matha-OL Erie McDowell
Nick Monteleone-QB Butler
Bill Rogers-QB Seton LaSalle
Max Sutter-DB Greensburg CC
A.J. Strum-OL Franklin
Nathan Stupar TE State College
Jared Williams-DB Perry
Maurice Williams WR Erie Strong Vincent
Zac Kasparek-OL New Brighton

Note: Dom DeCicco and Chris Drager from Thomas Jefferson are also signed up but we hear they may go to Columbus on Friday instead.

Rules of the road

Please keep premium material on either the Between Fifth & Forbes Message Board or the Center Court at the Pete Message Board. It takes several million dollars to run this network. Giving way copyrighted material on the free boards is not in our best interest nor is it in the best interest of our subscribers. Thank you in advance for your cooperation.

A navigational hint

On the right hand side of the Home Page you should see a list of videos recently process. If you click on “more videos” you will see a list of those videos on file that have some interest in Pitt. The list now extends on to a third page. It will certainly grow, as there are still quite a few in the pipeline.

A little hoops talk

Rivals had articles on the “Ticker” this week on Schenley’s DeJuan Blair, Aliquippa’s Herb Pope and Jeannette’s Terrelle Pryor. We hope you caught all of them. You can find them on the “Ticker” or as a part of their profile in the database.

The April evaluation period is behind us in basketball and Coach Dixon should now be free to complete is staff.

Point guard Eugene Harvey is scheduled for an official visit to Pitt sometime next week. I would rather have a big center but I’ll take another four-star player in a heartbeat.

Chris Peak, Tony Greco and I will all be up at State College on Saturday. We will report upon our return. Student Sports retains the rights to some material for 30 days. We will start reporting immediately but it takes about a month for all the benefits to be available to our subscribers.

Hope you had a chance to see Mike Farrell’s AMP pieces on the Elite Camp in Randolph, NJ. It is available to annual subscribers and Gold members. It showed Toney Clemons and Nick Sukay catching passes during the breakout drills. He also names Nick Sukay and Pat Bostick in his hot eleven out of this camp. I think Bostick throwing to Sukay sounds like a good combination. There is a ton off coverage this week from the Elite Camp. Next week it turns to the Nike Camps.

Please check the “Ticker” we have had 41 content items cross the Ticker in the last 48 hours plus an excellent article by Chris Peak on Josh Cummings signing with the Rams. Please do not miss Chris’ article on D.J. Kennedy from Schenley High School.
