Washington Post: Ranking The Bowl Games

Not too shabby. Duke and NCSU games ranked 27th and 28th, respectively. Ouch. Also enjoyed the little zinger about PSU ranked at 20th.
It is a great matchup of teams. The actual bowl really does not matter in this day in age, outside of the NY6 and playoffs.
I think ACC fans forget that the conference pools it's money on bowls.
-so whether we go to military with a 1 million payout or music city @ 3.5... we still get the same $.
I know it's not all about money, though, but at least this helps.
(money side of things, cheer HARD for clemson to beat oklahoma so we get even more $ for the NC game)

Agree, it is a great match up and Narduzzi has improved this Team all season long, I have nothing to complain about whatsoever.
Pitt has had a great season is far and looking forward to enjoying another 13th Game against 10-2 Navy Team.
If others want to complain while go ahead and it just shows they care about Pitt too, but wanted Pitt to do better in their opinion, like all of us.
I just think this Bowl against Navy is just as good and others can differ with no offense taken. I prefer going to a Bowl rather than not going! It helps the Players practice another 3 weeks and gains experience for next year.
I am happy with Pitt, Gallagher, Narduzzi & Staff, and Barnes and look forward to the Bowl, Recruiting, and next year!

I've been saying the matchup is good news for PITT and better news if we win.
I'm afraid not. I have in-laws to entertain this year. But I am buying tickets and giving them away per the Pitt Ticket Office suggestion. I was at the game last year and it was miserable... I did get to meet some of the parents of the players (Rori Blair, Chad Voytik and JJS, Issac Bennett's uncle)
JJS's mom was a hoot!
Do other conferences pool their bowl money? Maybe ACC officials are wondering why some Pitt fans feel slighted. The Military is not costing Pitt any money and its a good matchup close to home.
The bowls really don't matter beyond the teams in the Playoffs, so yeah our bowl is meaningless as is all others. But the fact that WaPo ranked our bowl so high is not necessarily an endorsement that we got a great bowl. If somehow Clemson and Alabama were put in the Little Sisters of the Poor Bowl, guess what? The LSPB would be one of the top bowls that year based on matchup. Pitt is doing the bowl a service. Not the other way around.

Quite a lot + utilizing the dvr. It is a holiday week and people will be taking off work or leaving early. Bars in the Burgh and surroundings will be humming with those who aren't going.
Looking at that list of bowls, there are plenty of really surprisingly poor match-ups - like who really cares about most of those teams. And since when have so many directional schools gone to bowl games?
The Pitt match-up is looking pretty good when you compare it to the vast majority of the other games.

They took into account the quality of the teams in the games. That is why the Military Bowl is rated far higher than say a game with a team that fired their coach against a team that should fire their coach.

Bowls are about competitive matchups and entertainment value. It was rated as such.

If someone wants to watch a team whose QB constantly holds the ball too long and gets sacked, watch a coach make questionable play calls and manage the clock poorly, watch a bad tackling defense, and then get crushed by an SEC team, then the PSU vs Georgia is the game for you...
