What a bunch of dorks, standing and making all of that noise. They should just get some hot cocoa and be quiet.

If you look at the roof of husky stadium it's similar to Heinz. That's because Heinz was designed similar to trap sound since husky stadium is considered one of the loudest in the country. Not that it matters to Pitt fans, who believe they're at Heinz Hall.

UW is the program Pitt should aspire to be like. A pro city with an urban campus who made a choice to remodel their stadium instead of play in the Seahawks stadium. If they would have went with CenturyLink Field, that program would be all but dead.

Except that it's a state university, not a regional one, with an enrollment of about 45,000. U-dub is far more similar to Michigan or psu than it is to Pitt.

I think it's premature to say they are back, but I would say hiring an accomplished head coach in Chris Petersen had more to do with their resurgence. But nice try.

Impossible.

Can't be hiring a proven winner as head coach.

It has to be the stadium finally working its magic.

As a program, UWash provides hope for Pitt fans. Hired a name coach, had some mediocre seasons (7-6, 6-6 last two), but was building the program as Peterson wanted with his recruits. Fruits of the labor are showing, as they have a chance to get to the cfb playoff.

By your own admission, stadiums are financial losers. If UW would have taken your advice, they would be playing in a half empty CenturyLink Field and battling for state supremacy with Wash St instead of competing for a spot in the playoffs and a possible national title.

One thing Washington does that I wish Pittsburgh would do is embrace tailgating by boat. I know it's not ideal for late November but it's a viable alternative for September and October.

Unknowable

But I'd give 99.9995% credit to the coach.

Stadium a fraction of the remainder.

What variables have actually changed?

I never thought I'd see a respectable team like Stanford get curb-stomped like that, but they did. I've always held Chris Peterson in the highest regard as a head coach, and that performance added to my respect.

-If not this year, for sure next year. That defensive line Washington has is young, huge, and completely stacked, they weigh around 320+ across the board. They should roll over the Pac-12 the next few years. They lead the country in sacks and forced fumbles by a big margin. Chris Peterson is in year 3 at Washington. Their Dline goes RS-SO / RS-SO /JR / SR

-Id be interested in how much better Pitt's defense would be with Hendrix and Hamlin healthy. Probably good enough for at least 1 more win so far this year with those 2. Landing Garbutt and Twyman will go a long way, we need those 2.

Dave, you might want to reconsider the extremely well coached remark, the Huskys just got nailed for 3 infractions in a row.
Old, I stand my comment that they are extremely well coached.

Hail to Pitt!
