I'm not completely sure that he'll be drafted. Maybe a team can use him like a bigger slot guy or something, similar to JuJu.

Wayne is a UFA at best. Who is his advisor Quadree Henderson? This is a dumb move.

I guess the flipside of the coin is that he probably can't do much to better his draft stock. Although I'd probably try to score a six-figure NIL deal if I was him, just to have that nest egg.
I'm not sure he could improve his stock either if he returned to Pitt.

I thought Hill and Baldonado were the two who really should have returned to better their stock. Guys like Kancey and Wayne kind of just are what they are (great college players, coming off great seasons, who probably don't have ideal NFL measurables and may or may not work out).
I agree again with you (damnit, it is becoming a trend). I see more of a Greg Lee thing here. That being said, not sure another year would make him go higher either, unless he really bulked up and got stronger, he isnt a speed demon, or a muscle man, just a steady, good receiver. I think he could be a good NFL receiver though
Would’ve loved him to stay another year, but I wish him the best of luck! Was a big contributor to our 20 wins the past two seasons.
Doubtful to get drafted, unless he runs a lot faster than any of us think. He'll get picked up due to his size and get a shot.
He's from Canada, so if NFL doesn't work out, I'm sure he can go CFL.
Which begs the question, have we had any notable CFLers throughout the years? I know Johnstown’s Geroy Simon is a legend up there but he went to Maryland.
We have 2 visiting this weekend (WR) and potentially Cephas as well.
I’m guessing 6th round or later, potentially UFA.

John Congemi also played for a number of years, he was backup QB for the Baltimore Stallions in 1994 when they where in the league for 2 years.
At least Wayne played in the Sun Bowl. A couple of other middle to late round players chose not to…Ridiculous….

Not sure he'll he drafted but sometimes it is just time to move on. He's been here a long time- NFL teams aren't normally antsy to draft 23 year old players without elite measurable, so next year wasn't gonna help him.
In my opinion, the only guys that should have sat out the bowl game were Kancey and Izzy (possibly Hill). That’s it. The rest who are not in the portal should have played. It’s getting ridiculous…

Wayne is physical enough to not get jammed at the line, play over the middle, and can run with the ball after the catch. Decent blocker, too. NFL loves guys like that if they can catch. Can see him as a #4 guy that plays special teams.
In most reports Izzy is not in the top 10 backs mentioned. A great game against UCLA may have helped.
I don't think playing against UCLA is would have helped beyond what he did during the season. The best thing he can do to help his stock is run an impressive 40 time. An injury in the bowl game could have jeopardized that.

I agree another year wasn't going to do much for his draft stock. He'd probably have a better chance of going under 1,000 yards next season than over it. But he's still only a 4-year guy. He played as a true freshmen (i.e. no redshirt) and didn't use his extra covid year. Not uncommon in the past or anything, but now we've come to expect six years out of a lot of these guys, which is a lot.
6th/7th but might not make a team. Should have transferred somewhere for 100K. Even 50K + free food and housing is better than playing in the CFL if he doesnt make a team.
He is 10 times the receiver Greg Lee was. Face facts guys. For players without NIL dollars, the NFL is the ticket.
Has anyone watched him block? I have and he is a helluva blocker.

Pretty sure DB Buddy Jackson spent a number of years in the CFL, and if I’m not mistaken was on a championship team up there.

He had 1300 yards and 10 tds and he was also a good blocking receiver. He had more receptions, more yards and more tds than Wayne in fewer games.

The fact that Lee didn't have FCJ as an OC just goes to show how great Lee was indeed.
Chill with the drama. Lee never broke a tackle nor made anyone miss. Who can forget Lee running back into the pursuit against Nebraska as he approached the end zone.
Lee also caught the ball with his body and not his hands. A huge negative. Yes, Wayne dropped a throw against UCLA, but he catches with his hands and goes to the ball. Watch his 2 of his TDS against Miami: the first reaching behind over the middle and then breaking tackles, the second snatching the ball like he was picking apples. That was right in front of me and he made it look simple.
