Pitt @ UNC

Wake @ Cal

USC @ Purdue

Ohio State @ Nebraska

UCF @ Baylor

BYU @ Cincy

ASU @ OK St

Xavier @ Villanova

Texas @ Vandy

Alabama @ Arky

Miss St @ UGa

SJSU @ Boise

SDSU @ Colorado St

Basically, 7 spots to be determined. A Pitt win plus certain teams losing would put Pitt right in the mix for a bid if Sunday was Selection Sunday. If we were to win 2 in a row, we'd probably be a lock at that moment but could still play ourselves out.

Pitt just needs to win their game today at North Carolina and then the rest of these bubble games will take care of themselves. If Pitt doesn’t handle their business against UNC none of the other games really matter. They have to win first and foremost.

These bubble teams keep on losing and continue to keep Pitt alive. Going by Bracket Matrix rank, here are the weekend's results:

Ohio State LOSS at Nebraska

Texas LOSS at Vanderbilt

Georgia LOSS vs Miss St

Vanderbilt WIN vs Texas

San Diego State LOSS at Colorado State

Nebraska WIN vs Ohio State

BYU LOSS at Cincinnati

Wake WIN at Cal

Arkansas LOSS vs Alabama

Pitt LOSS at UNC

SMU off

UCF LOSS at Baylor

UNC WIN vs Pitt

Xavier LOSS at Villanova

ASU LOSS at OK St

USC LOSS at Purdue

Bubble teams won only 4 games this weekend. 3 of those wins were over fellow bubble teams. The other win was over a really bad team. Pitt might have actually improved their resume relative to some of these teams this weekend.

Its really ashame because if this team just shows up for FSU and UVa, we are safely in. And as bad as things seem, if we can just beat SMU, we could very well be IN a lot of these mock brackets and in good shape as we approach the "easy" part of our schedule.

The last 2 spots right now are between:

SDSU
BYU
UNC
SMU
Pitt
Arky
Xavier

A win over SMU would be so huge because its a Q1 and it's a head to head. It puts you right there on that Last Team In/1st Team Out line and with a ton of winnable games coming up. I dont see us beating SMU though. They run the best "stuff" in the ACC. No stars but play as a team and have a wide range of scoring options.
