Catching up on some recruiting notes from the weekend:
- Papillon (Neb.) tight end Eric Ingwerson visited yesterday and got an offer out of the visit.
Pitt is the third school to offer Ingwerson, joining Northern Illinois and Northern Iowa, while Kansas and Minnesota, among others, are showing considerable interest. The obvious draw here is the size: Ingwerson is listed at 6'7", and if he's not quite that tall, he's close enough.
- Isaiah Thomas is a safety prospect at Clearwater Academy International - the school that sent Jared Wayne and Habakkuk Baldonado to Pitt - and he was at Pitt yesterday, too.
At 6'2" and 195, Thomas could play safety or outside linebacker, and his offer sheet includes Auburn, Boston College, Florida, Florida State, Indiana, Kansas, Maryland, Miami (FL), Minnesota, Ole Miss, Missouri, Oklahoma, Penn State, Rutgers and a host of G5 schools.
- 2025 three-star Iona Prep (NY) offensive tackle Rowan Byrne was at Pitt yesterday.
Pitt is on the early offer sheet for Byrne, along with Boston College, Minnesota, Rutgers and Syracuse.
