I'm going to go ahead and guess that very little of what she shared accurately reflects how she feels or the conversations she's had with Capel.
She is deliberately and extensively misleading everyone? Is that what you want in any position?
Safe to assume that you have never been a leadership position?
Try explaining the positive outcome of any AD publicly bashing and undermining any of their coaches.

AD-speak. She isn't going to tell complete truths. She has to be as positive as can be. What happened if she comes out and says she hates Jeff Capel but couldn't fire him due to the buyout and then he goes 25-7 next year? There's no point in being completely honest.
I think you're smart enough to know what I meant by that.
I recognize that an AD is going to make a public statement that, on the surface, appears to support the coach. Anyone who took two seconds to get over their anger that she didn't come out saying "Capel Sucks" will see the subtle ways she expressed her dissatisfaction with how he's running things. I also know that people mad she wasn't explicitly dragging the coach would also be mad if Capel couldn't land a transfer because his AD said he sucks and is getting fired next year.
Occassionally SMF hits the nail on the head. How is Capel supposed to land transfers if his AD directly says he's only hear til the buyout drops. Like it or not we're stuck with Capel for one more year. Lyke isn't going to publicly undermine him regardless of how she might feel privately.
This instance with Lyke is a perfect example of why you have to know WHAT a person is actually saying and not just listen to her words. It's an art to know what people are really saying, and it's seldom what their words are put together in sentences.
