that in one year, we would need to beat 15-17 GT in Greensboro to make the NCAAT, how many of you would have signed up for that? Stinks to lose at ND. Had a chance at Miami. Sucks to have no margin for error due to the B12/B10 getting 16 of the 36 at-large bid. But beat a 15-17 and you are in. Lose and it may be NIT. Its right in front of them.

Huge win by Tech clinched it for Pitt. FSU was chance for quad 4 loss on neutral site. Another quad 3 loss is fine. Maybe Dayton, but they are in now.

I would have been happy enough knowing we would start the ACC tournament on Wednesday instead of Tuesday.

Last March? Hell, last Thanksgiving.

Last March? Hell, last Thanksgiving.

I felt better about the team on Thanksgiving than March. I felt they played well vs a decent VCU team without Hugley and I thought Hugley would be a big addition to the good pieces they added.

They still had not figured each other out when they played VCU, which is a shame because that was a game we should have won.

Yea but just saying I was more encouraged with the additions and playing well without Hugley, who I thought would have a big year. Losing close vs VCU made me feel like this team could be maybe mediocre but certainly not shooting for the ACCC on the last day.

I don't know, when they lost to VCU I actually felt worse. It wasn't until Northwestern that I thought, damn, we have some players.

Honestly before this year I was a little worried about being stuck "in the middle." I like Jeff Capel, have rooted for him even in the worst moments, but I either wanted a surprisingly good year (yay, we got it) or a year bad enough we'd get a new coach. I hate going to the NIT, I don't enjoy those games.

But yes I would have been happy to play G Tech for an NCAA bid! And I'm excited for it tomorrow.

Wasn't VCU down like multiple key players? Can't say I felt too good at that time.

Even if a close loss to GT gets us in, it would certainly have a tainted feel backing in losing three straight - two being bad teams - with a chance to end the season losing four straight.

I don't care what happens after tomorrow. But just win that game.

And if we do get in, it would almost certainly be Dayton, where we could lose, lose 5 straight and feel like we didnt even make the NCAAT

That NWestern game was the turning point in the season. That’s when they started put it all together.

Losing close to unranked VCU after getting absolutely annihilated by 2 unranked big conference teams did nothing to encourage most of us.

I thought we looked good vs NW but I thought they sucked. The game where I thought "woah, this team had a chance" was at NC State.

I don't think we can lose 5 straight unless the driver of the charter bus for the team that beats us in Dayton Ted Kennedys them off a bridge on the ride home.

Don’t look now but ND is beating VT… trying to get coach more last games…

We got it done. Everyone would have signed up for this at the beginning of the year.

I would have signed up for the NIT. Great job by everyone. That said, even though I think we are in, I am going to be rooting against all these bubble teams because I will be nervous until I see our name on that board. All those B10 teams have similar resumes so even though I DEFINITELY dont agree with this, you could find an argument to rank us behind all 10 B10 teams since they have so many Q1/2 wins (and losses)

Yup. There’s not a person who would have predicted 22 wins and a win in the acc tourney. I get the ND game was a huge downer and the second half today was maddening but they did pull it out and will be dancing. Everything else from here is gravy.

I think they are in safely. They have a better resume then Rutgers, Penn State, Wisconsin in the Big Ten, and they beat Northwestern by 29 on the road. Those teams don’t deserve to go in over Pitt they just don’t.
