Well McGowans kept Pitt in it till...

Johnson started forcing things instead of running the offense. He needed to keep running the offense and hope the shots would fall. X was trying to make things happen in his own and we saw how well that didn’t work earlier in the year.

Lot of Coaching going on this year. The team keeps improving, really impressive how they are closing teams out this year. I know people say there is no improvement from Trey/X/Toney and I would argue they are all maturing right before our eyes, with the coaching going on they are getting better. How many coaches bench X for the last 8 minutes? How many coaches bench Trey? We will be so much better next year with a full roster of Capel's players whether X returns or not and I think it is highly unlikely he is off to the NBA but who knows.

Last years team we don't win this game last night. They don't have a lot of Offensive skill and shine but they have tons of grit and fight. To hold any DI team scoreless for the final 6 minutes is impressive.

I like Toney. I know he is a bit of a liability on offense as far as scoring, but he's had two straight solid rebounding games, 7 against Louisville and also against Northern Illinois.

Champagnie came off the milk carton and finished them off. Nice to see him back.
Champagnie was the beneficiary of some really nice passes from Trey and others. I could have made those shots. we need more from him for the team to continue to improve.

My point was he was practically non existent for a couple of games and he came back and energized the team. And I would like to see you make those slams. Especially the one on the ally oop.

Good point on the alley oop slam, maybe I could do it with a trampoline !

Seems to me that Champagnie made the plays because the guards gave him great passes. Not taking anything away from him but open dunks are the easy part. Getting the bounce pass or alley oop passes are the harder part. Right place, right time.

Yes. He has high basketball IQ. Knows where to be and when, which is how he gets those open looks. Plus he has the athleticism to finish above the basket.

He's the first wing we've had in 2 years that has both skills. Plus he contributes with rebounding and a few steals. Eventually his shooting will come. His ceiling as a player is very high.
