Well valiant effort

Valiant effort lol, omg I can't believe that was in the same sentence regarding Pitt's performance. How about disgusting effort.

No other way to describe it--PN did not do well in his last 2 games--quite disappointing
The saving grace is Dooz is not one to take losing lightly. He will keep working his ass off until he gets it right.

This OC opening is an opportunity to upgrade. I hope that's how Dooz and the AD see it. I really hope they get a guy who can balance Doozy's vision of a pro-style offense with some innovation. Innovation and Chaney did not mix.

Meanwhile, keep recruiting, and bring in more QBs. We cannot assune that the QB who will get us over the hump is already in the fold.

Navy is a tough draw especially after 4 weeks off. You simply can't prepare for that type of offense. Pitt doesn't have a QB, hell minus Boyd and Whitehead an athlete on their roster to simulate that style of offense.
It was a bad draw for Pitt.

Other teams get 6 days to prepare for Navy. How is 4 weeks of prep harder?

Doesn't matter if you have 4 weeks, 4 months or 4 years, if you don't the athletes to simulate that offense in practice, the actual speed and precision of it when you face it just wrecks you.

Exactly. It's been 4 weeks since Pitt played at game speed throw in Navy's offense which is a pita to defense anyhow and you have a receipt for disaster. The results of the game didn't surprise me what does is the number of fans that took Navy lightly.

You don't think a month is enough time to prepare for the triple option? Come on now. You guys act like becaise of the triple option Navy should go undefeated every year.

Our offense didn't do the D any favors today, that's for sure. You have to be able to score plenty of points, especially against the functional equivalent of a MAC defense.

Agreed offense didn't help.

Nothing valiant about it-we played one half of decent ball. Navy's a horrible matchup for Pitt. We have the slowest LB's and DE's in Div I. Add to that, the last 2 games we received very poor QB play. We should be giddy we somehow got 8 wins with this crew!

But looks like it will come up short

I agree! We may not have had the athletes out there, but we had the heart. I thought we would give up huge big plays, and we didnt. We got the big plays. Unfortunately we only had the ball 20 minutes the entire game!!! We couldnt stop their horse from getting 4 -5 yards a carry, which led to many first downs and lots of clock run.

I agree.. I thought it would be a blow out, but we held in there. Easy to get disheartened when you are losing and cant even get your offense on the field, but those guys never gave up. Even with never having the ball we still could have won the game if not for the 3 INTs that were almost Neil O'Donnell-ish in nature. Those balls were not even near the receivers.

It was 44-28. I don't think the team deserves any slap on the back for that kind of performance against Navy. It was a helluva lot better than Boise/NIU, but it wasn't pretty and the outcome was really never in doubt.

Well, that is true!

But, that being said, there was always hope. We always had them on 3rd and 4th down, just couldnt stop. This wasnt at all like the ND game, where ND just had better athletes, this was just some big dudes getting a few yards against our small LBs. We bent all night

well it was 31-7 and we made it at least interesting. I enjoyed the comeback and Peterman looked more poised in the second half.

I know we need to get Hall the ball... but the guy isnt getting it done and Ollison IS so is whitehead and Boyd when they get the rock. I think we halted our momentum putting Hall into the game and promptly going 3 and out

Agree with Hall. We did that several times this year. I am sure he will be a super back, but he wasnt up for it as a true freshman. I am guessing we were honoring a recruiting promise to use him alot.
