I don’t see a good reason to go after anyone this soon after Hurley opted for UConn.

Miller: has a big buyout and may get canned anyway. Why not let Arizona make the next move or negotiate with them? They have to ask permission to talk to him regardless. He’s not going anywhere else.

Oats: he may be a great coach. He’s young and energetic but who is he going to choose at this point over the Pitt job?

Odom: I have written previously about him and know people who have mentored him. I am sure he is going to be a good coach at this level but the pitt job is likely too big an endeavor for him right now.

Musselman: probably the safest bet for the next 3 years proven he can rebuild and win. Has a lot of experience working with transient rosters in cba, nba developmental leagues and now Nevada. Let’s wait until Nevada gets bounced from the tournament and talk to him. He’s from Ashland, Ohio and I like his basketball pedigree better than any of the aforementioned.

All else fails there is Pitino. He would take the Pitt job at a discount at this point in his career. If you are looking at Miller, you might as well look at Pitino.

-Because there is something called a late signing period which is coming to a close in near time. Do you really want to go into next year with zero players? Because if this continues for weeks, we can always cancel next season and give the money to football

If Musselman is the choice it should be finished tomorrow and introduced Monday. There is no good reason we aren't introducing a coach on Monday, unless we are hiring Cal.

We aren't hiring Cal.

Let's take next year off... go at it strong in '19...we have already taken more time than every other program than one the last 2 years in hiring a new coach. We're a well oiled machine!

Miller doesn't have a big buyout at all. His "buyout" isnt something that PITT would have to worry about, his buyout is about personal stock options. Nothing PITT would have to do.

Oats isn't going to wait around, hes got a great team coming back, you don't lock him up soon he isn't going to jump ship.

Musselman is going to be attractive to any west coast team that might get antsy and go all in for him

Pitino has not, and will not be a candidate here. Just stop. FFS we aren't interested in Miller, let alone Pitino.
