What a perfectly Pitt way to win a game....

I am a big believer in the principle that there’s no such thing as a bad win or good loss. They simply don’t exist. They don’t draw pictures on the scoreboard for a reason. That’s especially true for a mediocre or bad team – which is what Pitt is right now. Tonight’s result certainly doesn’t change that view.

However, it just doesn’t seem like Pitt football or men’s basketball ever makes it easy. You are always holding on for dear life until the bitter end no matter how good or bad the opponent – and that goes for both major sports.

Pitt just won a game in which it played really well for most of the second half and they overcame a 14 point deficit in the process.

Also, it was a huge win that we absolutely had to have. However, I was so upset with how the idiotically they played down the stretch that it’s almost disorienting that Murphy actually made the shot at the end to win it.

I think we are so conditioned for disaster that I was half expecting BC to turn around and hit 75 foot bank shot to win it at the buzzer.

I know, I know, Jeff Capel was right. However, it’s not like they don’t give the critics their fair share of ammunition.

It is a win so I will take it and move on – especially for this team, which is going to need to scratch and claw every single night the rest of the way. However, that game did not need to be nearly that dramatic. I would just like to see a little more poise from the players and frankly, the coaches too, the rest of the way.
