Narduzzi didn't have head coaching experience...and neither did Jamie for that matter. What if we found a top assistant at a blue blood like a Roy Williams type?

Just saying...

Did you hear Barnes presser yesterday? ...an experienced D1 HC who had had success, recruits like a maniac and runs a tight ship with an uptempo offense.

There are a lot more D1 HC to choose from in basketball.

Apples and oranges from football to basketball. Look at how most of the top assistants mentored by Izzo, Coach K, Howland/Jamie, etc have worked out.

For every Tom Crean there's 8 Brian Gregorys. Maybe a 1 in 10 chance at picking a winner.

Very true, "apples and oranges." Football offensive and defensive coordinators actually direct
a major portion of the football team. They have assistants underneath them that they direct, and
supervise. They also game plan for a major part of the game, call plays, make substitutions and
are often responsible for their part of the depth chart. They are MUCH closer to being a head coach
than a basketball assistant is.
