Five games left on Pitt's regular-season schedule. One Quad 1. Two Quad 2s. One Quad 3. One Quad 4.
I'm of the mind that Pitt has two paths to the NCAA Tournament:
Win out in the regular season or win the ACC Tournament. I'm not sure that a middle path - where Pitt doesn't win out and doesn't win the conference tourney - really exists.
I know there are some smart folks on here, though, so tell me: do you see a way Pitt gets there without accomplishing one of those two things?
Say the Panthers go 4-1 with a Q1 win at Louisville and a Q2 loss at Notre Dame or N.C. State. And then let's say they win 1 or 2 games in the ACC Tournament before getting knocked out. Assuming no major bid-stealing upsets in other leagues, could that get them in?
