You were his biggest supporter on this board until late February last year when you finally came around and realized what was obvious to others for a long, long time. You were still saying that he was a good coach and a good hire right up until the bitter end. Your current denial of all this doesn't mean that isn't what you posted, over and over again, it means that you are hoping people forget how big a fan and defender of the guy that you were.
Your delusional . For a man whose so OCD on the smallest of facts your not doing your homework .
Hated the hire from day one . He wasn't a "splash hire " and he grossly mishandled the SJeter transfer .
I stated many times Pitt didn't hire KS to win or even seriously compete in the ACC . There was nothing in all of his yrs of coaching to support the idea that they hired him to win a championship . He runs clean programs , his players stay out of trouble and they go to class .He's a proven middle of the pack kind of coach nothing more nothing less. .( except at Pitt )
With the total late season collapse in his first season and losing both his top recruit and returning player for the following season I called for his dismissal.
As a JD supporter there's no denying he left Pitt with a totally dysfunctional roster . Six D1 players with four of them seniors . Last yrs recruiting class had better players than either of JDs last two . That still doesn't mean I supported him.
Because I find it offensive to attack a man's character whom none of know doesn't mean I supported him . His three best players choose to leave when he was fired . All three would be in Pitt uniforms today had he been retained . To me that says something about the man . His players believed in him . They didn't believe he quit on them .
Saying that , he was a horrible hire and did a horrible job while here . He deserved to be fired , but I never though Heather would pull the carpet out from under him ,too many zeros left on his contract . That doesn't mean i supported him .
Because I thought Pitt should honor the contract they willingly signed doesn't mean I supported him.
I must admit after their ND win in his first ACC game I was optimistic. I also fell for the idea that with less stringent academic requirements he could recruit better at Pitt than Vandy . That still doesn't mean I supported him.
Get your facts right Mr OCD !
