I used to live in Columbus, am Catholic and never rooted for ND.
I ain’t going to start now. Ohio State.
Notre Dame all the way. TOSU is#2 on my Hate Parade behind the Evil Empire. The two of them are the most insufferable fan bases.
Ohio State seared its spot the year they came into Pitt Stadium and drilled us 63-28. We knew Pitt stunk, and we were laughing at Ohio State rather disrespectfully. How f slow they were to run up the score as opposed to V Tech the week before, how long it took their band to spell OHIO, why they never beat Michigan, etc. Lady behind us, face painted scarlet and gray, tasked at her husband, “These Pitt fans should be more humble!” To which I turned around and snarled, “Lady, if you haven’t noticed, we stink. What makes you think what you are doing should impress us? It happens every week. Beat Michigan and get back to me.” Screw Ohio State, except when they play the PEDDOS.
ND was the team of my (pre Majors and Dorsett) youth. If Pitt every gives up the ghost in football, the Irish are on my short list of Next Team Up because I really likethis coach.
