First, great game

Second, man, Pitt's prospects looked so bleak, now here we are after seeing Dugger perform so well, Reid coming back next year, Brookin and Brewu looked great. Obviously we win if Dugger played all game, but still gotta hand it to Toledo's QB, he played tough for sure. We didnt have much of a rush, OL for us is so banged up its nearly comical, and we still had what 450 yards??

Every game win or lose everyone says to fire any coach we ever had, and I even thought this after seeing Lynch start and not playing Dugger, and even posted to fire Narduzzi. Of course, this is probably more the OC call, but Narduzzi has to step in and say "we are putting in Dugger (Of Diffenbach before)"

Game game though, I was entertained! Lots of very good players for us that played well too.

Eli or no Eli, our players absolutely looked no better than Toledo's. The game was depressing as hell because of that. We couldn't just line up and beat them. Their talent level was equal. Narduzzi has a lot of problems. Even with a win, I was going to say the same thing. That WR was the 2nd best player on the field. Why?

This was kind of a takeaway from the game. Pitt's talent is on par with a mid-level MAC team.

Casual fans can appreciate the excitement of Pitt athletics. Its similar to driving up on an accident on the parkway. You can't help but slow down and check it out.

To be a fan of Pitt however is truly revolting. Its like pulling up on that accident and recognizing one of the cars.

I find it hilarious that the OP sounds so optimistic.....excited....slobbering over a kid who put up numbers agsinst a 7-5 MAC team

and the very next post gets all the "likes" for telling the absolute truth......

Dugger looked good against a mid-level MAC team. A MEDIOCRE MAC TEAM. It means nothing. Toledo plays Duquesne and that is the level of play that Dugger played against. It's foolish to think he's anything but a 4th string backup until we can see him against a quality opponent.

That being said, Toledo is more talented, faster and better coached than Pitt. Other than Reid and Sauls, we don't have much that can be considered major college talent. Look at next year's schedule. Being optimistic, we win 4 games with this team.

Agree 100%. I see no reason why we shouldn't have a pretty good chance at a natty next season with Dugger and Brookins steering the ship. This team is the real deal, as we saw yesterday. Some serious young talent.

I don't see how anyone views Dugger, at this point, as a viable D1 quarterback.

Look at some of the posts after DiNucci's 3-9 performance against Northwestern in 2016. Doesn't take much for most people on this board to "see something" in a player. Eli Holstein could absolutely suck the next three years, and it would be anybody's fault but his to some people because they saw him succeed for 8 quarters and can't comprehend nuance.

Ben Dinucci played games in the NFL.

They definitely hold… commit OPIs on the reg and tear helmets off better than Pitt… and slam RBs unnecessarily w/o flags…awesome 👍

I’m not convinced they are faster or more skilled at all

Pitt beat themselves pretty good though
