Why all the Bojangles commercials during ACC games?

Would you rather see Piggly Wiggly ads? Magic Mushroom ads are usually entertaining.

Both bojangles and magic mushroom are reportedly pretty good, per a couple friends I have who moved to the South and have access to them. At least compared to rough equivalent chains we have available in the pgh area. The shots of the Magic Mushroom pizza in the commercials don't particularly look fantastic to me, but I'd certainly give it a try.

From what I understand the real loss is not having access to In n Out Burger

IMO, In-N-Out is over rated. It's not bad, but I actually prefer 5 Guys and a ton of other burger chains.

Magic Mushroom is okay. I wouldn't go out of my way for it. Lots of local pizza places are as good or better.

Oh, it is Mellow Mushroom, isn't it...

Interesting report about In n Out Burger. I think Five Guys is fine, but only just OK, so I don't regret not having In n Out if it is not even on par with 5G.

I am spoiled, living in proximity to Fat Heads in the SS, which make great burgers, IMO. Though not really a chain, and that's not what they're known most for, still my go to for local burgers over Brgr or Burgatory or similar.

Yes, Mellow Mushroom.

You'll find differing opinions on In-N-Out. It has a very loyal following. Some people swear by it. Given a choice, I'd rather hit 5 Guys. But I'm sure many would disagree with me.

After all these years I still don’t get the whole In-N-Out thing. It’s ok, probably above average even, but the hype is ridiculous. I’ve picked up multiple people at the airport that insist on going there before they even check into their hotel.

For fast food it’s decent quality.

This thread sounds like a bad teen movie. 5 guys eat some magic mushroon then hit some in and out burger.

Living down here I can say

Mellow Mushroom is good but the best in my area is a place called Johnny’s NY pizza

Bojangles Zaxbys etc is just fried chicken

Then there’s KFC Popeyes etc

Too much fried chicken ... it’s everywhere

That’s why I’ll eat Chipotle or at the Vietnamese place or Sushi...

By the way I live 40 min from where most of Sharp Objects was filmed just got a bunch of photos of the murals the red train the town the fountain and the alley from the first episode... those who watched know what I mean... it’s a very quiet place that you look at differently after watching the series (and reading the book).

Mellow Mushroom makes great pizza. A nice casual restaurant as well. Bojangles, I was skeptical of big time. Then I tried them. If you're in the mood for fried chicken, biscuits and good iced tea they're hard to beat.

Because the pay for the commercials, its a very large and profitable enterprise across the US especially in the South.

The Big Bo Box is advertised as perfect for tailgates so they are into college football bigtime.

Big Bo Box I like that one. Haha.

They do advertise as a turnkey food supplier for tailgates. We went to a SC Georgia game once and BoJangles stuff was all over the place.

https://www.bojangles.com/
Good food. Good prices. Fun people.

Here's where they're located.
They're located in great states.where people want good food at reasonable prices.
They leave the so called coastal elite states to be served by Starbucks, Chipotle, Au Bon Pain, Panera and other over priced franchises.

Has anyone actually been to Hardee's? I know of only one in the region, in Millvale. Ive never been.

On the turnpike last month, stopped at roadside complex and was surprised to see a Roy Rogers. Blew a fair bit of coin in the RR both in the CoL and on Forbes. I believe "Unca Loo" Pappan had the franchise's here...

Waffle House in Breezewood had to be in the bottom 5 of establishments I've partaken of. The worst being a Tim Hortons just outside Toledo that my crew visited, more like survived, after the Pitt loss there in walt's era. The place was full of cockroaches. The insects in there weren't much better. :D

Seriously, gross wasn't an adequate word. Hey, enjoy lunch everyone!

Within the last two years I've eaten at a Denny's and a Bob Evans, where the omelettes where horrible! Diners are supposed to specialize in those! I'd choose a local place that's not a chain and trust them for eggs over those places. Also, went to a Buffalo Wild Wings a couple weeks ago, they advertise the sports watching angle, and they should! The food is garbage! THE WINGS SUCKED!

A Waffle House Story with a Happy Ending.

Mr Buffett has a friend who is a project manager for a large construction company that builds hotels, restaurants, and other places like that.

The guy is an on site construction manager and works all over the world.
He was in Atlanta for a few years building two hotels one in the Buckhead a very wealthy area of Atlanta.

This guy had no time to socialize, go to bars, try to meet women, date, get married, all he did was work.

So what he did was contact agencies in the city where he worked and arranged for female companionship "by the hour."
It's expensive, it's fast, you get what you want and you're back to work.

Apparently lots of busy men and women use this arrangement.

In Atlanta he used the same agency and eventually asked for the same person when he called.

The "working girls" wanted Buckhead dates since that's where the money was so in between arrangements they went to the Buckhead area Waffle House to wait for their next arrangement. To much traffic in Atlanta to drive home and back.

Eventually this guy took this woman on vacation, they came back, they got married, she retired from the dating business, and they're still married today almost 20 yrs later.

Mr Buffett and I went to their wedding.
He want to U of Georgia and she went to U of South Carolina thats why we go to that game alot.

Since she spent alot of time at the Buckhead area Waffle House she had one of her receptions there to include her co - workers and the Waffle House staff.

I told you the Waffle House story had a happy ending.Haha.

They used to be all over the place. (I've been gone from the area for over 20 years now, except for occasional visits .What happened?) There used to be a local Pgh. chain called Sandy's, but back in the 1970s, they were bought by Hardee's, and all the Sandy's became Hardee's. They must have eventually died out.

Hardee's advertise many things, but the one ad that sticks out are for Texas Toast Burgers and egg sandwiches, which look just awful in the ad, the "toast" looks like burned shingles, so can only imagine how they really are.

Roy's fried chicken is/was pretty good too, just ask Hot Rod Brookin...who probably gained about 40 lbs during his college career eating it:) Hail to Pitt!

Calling it "Magic Mushroom" makes more sense if you were familiar with the bizarre commercials they run. This one sums it up pretty well.

Popeye's blows all of those fried chicken places away. Spicy of course.

I used to believe that, then a small chicken chain opened in my area that makes Popeye's look like 3 day old KFC

Chicken Joe's

You won't find any better fried chicken anywhere!
