Maybe he isn’t worth that much. Ok. But I don’t get why people want Fede back when Corhen destroyed him one on one last year. Let’s factor in that Fede remains a non contributor on offense this year. His FT is still around 43% this year, and he has logged 3 pts in the last 50 minutes he played. Yes he was a better defender and rebounder, but when Pitt struggles to score, having Fede in would further draw attention to the guards. At least Corhen warrants some attention from an offensive standpoint. Im not saying Corhen is worth that much, but he puts Pitt in a better position to win this year than Fede. Now if Pitt has more offensive threats, ok, maybe the trade off is worth it again, but Pitt is worse off if Fede stayed.

I'd rather have Fede. This team has enough scoring options. Fede is a much better rebounder. I'd say he is only a slightly better post defender but the advantage in having him is he is a rim protector. Sometimes teams run uncontested layup drills against us and having him in there dissuades that.

This rumor was going around and an insider said he is probably getting 1/3rd of 600K. So his value at that price is more than acceptable.

I’d argue that our biggest problem is lack of 3pt shooting.

Yeah, there's simply no way he's getting $600K. People love these fish tales when it comes to NIL. Like suggesting UVA offered Spindler a million dollars. Ummm... yeah freaking right. Imagine a 5-7ish team dropping a million dollar on an UDFA-level interior o-linemen, as if that would make all the difference and catapult them into success. Like, who believes this stuff?

I hope he is getting 600K because that at least shows we are trying.

Problems are:

1. Rebounding
2. Perimeter defense
3. No rim protection (but not many teams have this)

3 point shooting could be better but it's ok. And we score in other ways. Rebounding and defense are the problems.

UVA has been overpaying and spending like drunken sailors. If it got into a bidding war, $1 mil wouldn't surprise me.

All of the above and then some, corhen needs to grow a set,

I dont agree with the narrative that Corhen isn't "tough." I think he's plenty tough and fights on the inside. He's just a slow leaper and doesn't possess that natural rebounding/timing instinct.

And he is extremely slow running up and down the court on a change of possession. Not sure if it lack of conditioning or he is just that slow.

I would love to know his 40 time. It looks like about 7 seconds based on what I see on the court. It can't really be that slow, which leads me to believe he is out of shape. Or just doesn't want to give 100%.

He is not worth 600k. He probably isn't worth 100k. He is slow, lazy, doesn't box out, and never outhustles anyone. He flat out sucks. He is just another miss by Capel, who can't recruit a solid big to save his life.

Coleman Hawkins got $2 million for 1 year to transfer to KST from Illinois and he was just an above average player. They are believed to possibly have the highest player payroll and they are 11-11.
Where in the world is that kind of money coming from in Manhattan, Kansas??

We got spoiled with Fede being a really good rim runner and having really high stamina level. He put a massive amount of pressure on a defense in transition and in cutting to the basket on ball screens. He had his flaws and it was an adventure if he actually got the ball at the basket, but the kid could really, really run and his stamina was really good.

It’s not a surprise, from that perspective, that he’s playing solid minutes on a Texas Tech team that appears destined for a protected seed, while we’re giving even more minutes to a big, strong fella who looks better getting off the bus and on a team that’s skidding down the stretch.

Fede is averaging 6.9 and 5.4 in 21.1 minutes. Corhen is playing 8 minutes more and only getting 10.5 and 5.5. I'm sort of hoping Grant McCasland gets a better job and Fede transfers back. I think he gets 1 more year due to that new JUCO ruling.

This team with Fede isn’t going anywhere . He had a nice sting of games two years ago and wasn’t very good last year . Corhen would be fine if he had a strong inside partner .

What’s your goat’s name? Please remember to wear your helmet when you milk it. It doesn’t like it and it kicks.

He is a better rebounder and defender than Corhen. If I had to pick between them for a Center next year, I am picking Fede.

Has weak hand too
maybe small too
both......hands :)

more so I wonder about the effect of his lack of effort and hustle influencing everyone else to put out the same lazy amount on the defensive end of the court.....on the offensive end there's only 1 guy trying or moving at a time :( by design

if Fede is/was/would be any worse a contributor, at the very least he was a high motor and effort and good attitude role player, Corhen's effort has been evident for a couple of games so I think it's there and for those few games Capel probably made that happen but it certainly didn't sustain

Corhen is not fine. His biggest problem is he has no motor. In fact, I don't think we have many ultra-competitive guys on this team. I think that is why we get behind early every game. We just come out and play and hope things go our way. They don't understand that you have to outwork and outhustle teams with similar talent if you want to win. Many, including myself, put the blame for this on Capel. However, I am rethinking this. I don't think it's all on Capel. These kids for whatever reason, don't appear to have that motivation that comes from within. Sadly, inner motivation cannot be taught, it's a mindset, you either have it or you don't. These kids don't and that is why they are considered "soft" by so many.
