I'm not going to pretend that everything is rosy, and Pitt should be favored to win the next four games. It should not and most likely won't win out.
That said, I saw a Duke team do something that not a lot of other teams can do. It takes a lot of patience, execution, and discipline to play like that. You need a good coach who can consistently call and rely on short passes. You need a QB that makes most of those throws. Pitt defense's big stops late in the game were partly on Jones for not putting the ball right on his receivers hands.
That's a risky offense because you need to complete a large amount of passes to move the ball all the way down the field. Odds are in college that you can't do that all game. I don't think we'll face any other team with the QB to sit in the pocket and do that. Plus, Cutcliffe is the best coach in regards to scheming out of the last five games.
There are plenty of problems, sure, and I still look at this team and wonder what the future is.
