Why Givens flipped...

The reason for the date is to give the kids time to think about it. The problem with no signing date is you will have kids signing on a whim. Not really stopping to think about their decision. You would have kids signing in the car on the way home after a first visit. Another thing to keep in mind is that a LOI doesn't mean they have to let you on the team. Just pay for your first year of scholarship. So schools could go back to signing 30 kids and cutting them. The NCAA 25/85 rules doesn't start until the first game or classes start.

There should be an early signing period. I agree with kids making a visit and signing if there was no signing date. Imagine the pressure the coaches would put on recruits that visit? They would tie them up and wouldn't allow them to leave without signing.

An early signing period would allow the kids that know where they want to go to get it over with so they don't have to be bothered by coaches anymore. Many kids get sick and tired of the process, especially after they make their decision.

Givens flipped because he was born and raised in Altoona. It's a suburb of Sandusky-ville with cultist propaganda spewed in the ears of kids as young as 2 years old. Go to Altoona wearing a Pitt shirt or hat and check it out for yourselves. You'll be treated like an adult visiting Gatlin, Nebraska (Children of the corn reference).. Please don't think im kidding either. I was there, walking across street right outside of the Curve stadium when 3 penn state fans jumped out of a cornfield and took me deep into the cornfield where about 40 of them were going to tie me up and burn me alive in some sort of "cleansing sacrificial ritual." Luckily, me strength and agility led to my escape. Scariest day of my life..
I talked to Givens before one of Pitt's games last year. I asked him point blank what he would do if the DOMINATOR offered him a ship. He just looked at me and weekly said "I don't know". That told me something right there.

Didn't this kid hunt all of the time and actually stated being in the outdoors is important to him. He wants to be a park ranger or something.

posters keep alluding to some news about him regarding off field issues, saying that this is a blessing in disguise.. Can anyone elaborate on this?
