He took the Miami job and was told nothing about the impending sanctions until after he arrived. That alone should have given him until the end of the season to be fired. Just to save face a bit. They owed him that much. Also one of the best Pro Scouts in the business recently saw Miami play in person and was stunned at how far the talent level was down. His evaluation not mine of course. He stated Brad Kayaa and one other player were playing like NFL type talents.
I think at the core Golden is better then he has looked as a coach and will be a successful fit for the right program. As Owt stated Miami's facilities are horrific and since they can't cheat anymore they are going to need to commit $$ to the program, get the right HC and undergo a total cultural overhaul. They have to be a bit patient to make it work IMO.
