In my opinion, Sweet Caroline is an embarrassment and should have no part of the game day experience. But even assuming I'm wrong, and it's the greatest thing to all our fans, alumni and administration (it's not), it has to be moved. I say it should be moved to the last few minutes of halftime. Here is why:
The party between the 3rd and 4th quarters is a THING. Not a concocted, made up gimmick of the marketing department, but a real, genuine, awesome thing directed by the PLAYERS AND COACHES. They have fun. They get wild. They get rowdy. They jump, scream and butt heads. They spray water around like they just won the National Championship. It's gotten national press. Very very positive national press.
Add some fun music and let the players and coaches lead the crowd in the party.
