IUP is hosting the 1 through 8 seeds in their region. They are 1. Cal is 3. And both teams have D2 All-American types. BballinsiderfromPitt says both are better than the guards we have and based on their numbers, I wouldn't disagree but haven't seen them.

They aren’t going to Pitt lol. Armoni is going to a contender that can get him to the NBA and possibly win a title.

IUP lost their leading scorer earlier in the season to a season ending knee injury. He was averaging 25 per game. I would encourage anyone to go to the IUP regional . The quality of the basketball will be eye opener. Besides the 2 excellent guards IUP has a 6’8” forward that leads the nation in 3 point percentage , over 50 percent. It’s team basketball and they get after it on defense. Finished 26-2 with a 12 point loss at Big 10 Illinois. West Liberty is also there , run and gun 25-2 also. Both are in the top 5 D2 ranked nationally. Great facility also for a D2 school. Affordable tickets. Worth the short trip to IUP.

Maybe one day, we can have a program who can successfully recruit PSAC players. That will take time.
Hate to break it to you but this IUP team would beat Pitt. They are 26-2 know how to win , play great defense and team basketball. Top 3 in D2 and Pitt is bottom, bottom D1 but are not really a D1 team and I am a Pitt fan.

Maybe 1 or 2 out of ten, but not more than that.

Have you watched Pitt play ? Or maybe you just think one of the worst D1 team in the nation would beat one of the best D2 teams in the country. You should go to the regionals at IUP.

If IUP is the best D2 team, that would probably rank them in the 200s to 250s if they were D1. I know some ranking has Pitt at 200 but that ranking takes into account losing games without Burton and Horton or when Burton was getting into shape.

I do believe Pitt beats IUP 8 or 9 out of 10. However, it is sad we even have to have this discussion comparing an ACC team to a PSAC team.
