... is a job ending offense. Inexcusable.

Timeout, order fake injury, or all else fails you sprint out into the field yourself, and throw yourself into mud angels to stop that play from happening

He was trying to call timeout but the refs didn't give it to him. Dungey got the next play off in a matter of seconds. But don't let facts get in the way.

same situation in reverse, A-L "catches" a pass, Pitt stumbles up to the line, just waiting for the refs to look at it--why not hurry up and run a play there?

Dungey was able to get the play off, because unlike Pitt, he did not go thru 3 shifts before running the play. Narduzzi blew it on the Lopes drop AND this play.

Also, there is no way you play for a 45 yard field goal to tie - Over 5 minutes and all 3 timeouts you have to try to win.

Unbelievably inept coaching - 2nd and 2 to don't run delays that can lose yardage. Second and 8, you don't run play action. On defense. 3rd and 7, you don't give up a pass out of the backfield with the cover guy 8 yards off his cover.

Agree. But that has a lot to do with the QB. Pickett halfwaay thru his first year while Dungey has been here forever. Experience or lack of showed on that one.

Pitt absolutely blew it calling what looked like it was going to be a trick play with multiple motions after that call.

However, the replay official was quick on the trigger all day - and there's simply no excuse for them to not whistle down immediately, especially when you see replay officials stop play all the time when they see a team trying to quick snap to avoid a review.

There needs to be a rule in place where the booth upstairs has the ability to go back and review blatant missed calls whether a play has been run or not. That play wasn't even close. You can blame Narduzzi all you want, but the play happened on the other side of the field 35 yards or so downfield. I don't know how fast the replay came up on the jumbotron.

What about the plays that worked to win the game?

We scored 3 TDs on plays you don't see every game (not great calls). Ollison's long run, Lopes bubble screen (poorly played and tackled by the Cuse) and the Jackson fumble recovery (poorly officiated).

We had the ball with chances to put the game away and poor playing calling netted us 2 50+ yard FGs.

The wild cat did help greatly.

Of course running the wildcat is something you can usually do successfully only one time.

Once you show it a lot in a game every remaining team on your schedule will be prepared for it.

Sounds like a normal football game.

While that is probably true, it did win us a game today. A very good win today balances a very poor loss to UNC.

To the extent that in some games a play or two like those happen for you and in some games a play or two like those work against you. In a normal game, it is a play or two.

Look at those plays and the 2 review issues. It was not a "normal" game.

I'm watching the vt nd game and UK vs Am game and just saw like 2 or 3 crazy plays in each game within a span of 15 minutes. It happens.

Were some calls bad? Sure. But you are nitpicking this game because you are mad at narduzzi
