Wonder if Barry A. would consider it, the least he could do for Pitt since Pitt trained his current head coach

Eh. No real benefit to Pitt. Wisconsin is not a hotbed for recruiting and a game against them isnt going to create a lot of fan interest in terms of butts in the seats.

Agreed. Pretty fun road venue for those Pitt fans interested, though.

Do you think one game has any effect on recruiting? Did Texas recruits all the sudden have interest in Pitt after the A&M game?

so what? Where exactly is the hotbed (overrated anyways) recruiting area Pitt should be scheduling games at and how exactly will they fill up the seats at Heinz? Seems to me a series with Wisky would mirror the series with Iowa which was pretty damn entertaining.

Recruits want to play against good teams on National TV - Not against cupcakes in a half filled Heinz Filed

There is your recruiting "hotbed"

I would say Wisky holds more weight than Iowa even with last years success

had some buddies go up to Madison when wvu played them in late 90's, said it was a great college town. I'd love that home and home/ A chance to take it to chryst, a good P5 opponent, hell yeah..

This notion that away game venues have some effect one way or the other on expanding the recruiting turf is mostly nonsense-except to the extent that the quality and profile of the away games matters to all recruits wherever they may be from. Most would rather play as many games against major opponents in front of big crazy crowds in prime time nationally televised games as they can get. Wisky would fit that bill nicely. And a tremendous road trip gameday environment for visiting Pitt fans to boot.

That said, I won't hold my breath for that to happen.

It's a tremendous gameday environment in an awesome town. I'd recommend it to anyone-if you get a chance to take in a game there go for it.

Couldn't have said it better myself. If I'd read your post before my last post it would have saved me some thumb work,

I think that a game against a nationally recognized team like Wisconsin WOULD put butts in the seats. They're one of the better Big 10 programs.

I would really like to see a home and home with any of the PAC 10 teams. Wisconsin ……meh

Same. Been to Madison as well. Pass. Took the connecting that night to Chicago and stayed there instead.

Agree with PAC10 teams. Would love to see a Stanford game. I'm out at their campus a couple times a year. At least the away game would be worth the visit.

It would be a good series, but like most potential opponents, I think it would draw flies.

That said, how well a team draws is pretty low on my priority list.

I have been to Camp Randall many, many times but it's not the easiest place to travel to and from.

Funny thing- over the last few years, many of their fans have been bitching about the place not having atmosphere unless it's a BIG name opponent; the dwindling attendance; and the students not being there the whole game.

Fortunately for them they have bench seating so it's not so obvious when the place is half filled.

If we are going in the Big 10 direction, then I'd prefer PS, OS, or Michigan. If u want to play the Pac 12, then USC or UCLA.

You people are nuts if you wouldn't enjoy a Wisky home and home, but don't think for one second that Chryst would see eye to eye with Alvarez on that....

No freaking way

UW is a perfect type of program for Pitt to play OOC. They win a lot but don't win so much against programs that recruit equal or better than them. Most of their wins have come from a traditionally weak division and a very soft OOC.

Pitt was the better team last year and likely will be more talented over the foreseeable future. UW usually struggles with more talented teams.

At the gate, you would have to think having a former coach in the stadium would help somewhat. The reality is UW plays only 1 Power 5 team OOC power year so it isn't likely to ever happen.
