This used to be funny but they are actually doing well now. Caitlin Clark changed everything and people are watching women's basketball. It's a little crazy that Clark's salary is only around 70K because it's the rookie cap. It's estimated her market value is around several million per year.
No, endorsements would be on top of that. What I mean is if there was no rookie cap or any type of cap, a WNBA team would pay her several million per year in salary because she is worth that to the franchise in added ticket sales, jerseys, corporate sponsorships. She is really one of the most famous American athletes.
serious question, why doesnt the female sports fan base watch the wnba? i understand why men dont but you would think at the very least that women would.
it's 2025, women, girls of all ages watch sports. this isnt 1972. yet women across the board, all races, ages, absolutely ignore the wnba. it's kind of sad really. you'd think that would be low hanging fruit for the wnba to appeal to them.

For the same reason they don't watch 12-year-old rec league basketball, I assume. There are much better options as it pertains to quality of play.

if your product is so bad that even feminists wont watch it, what's that say about your product?
Angel Reese is very marketable. She could get a mid six figure contract if restrictions were taken off.
